I have a datatool gear indicator fitted to my sv650sk4. When i put it into gear it reads either 1 or 2 When in first gear. In neutral it always reads 0. When i'm driving the bike the leds just spin round and round. How do i set it?

Why is there a need for a gear indicator really? I usually know what gear i'm in when cruising by my speed! i.e 3krpm-40mph i'm in 6th cruising, when your hammering it then u go till the gear lever stops goin up ;-) haha
I usually subconsciously count the gears anyway as i go up n down

I can see it might be hany if you haven't got a rev counter .... but one of the other does me ...

true, although if you use your sv enough you quickly learn the incredible noises your engine makes at different revs :P

A gear indicator is great! Much quicker than doing a calculation in your head based on revs and speed. Also stops you trying to change up or down when you ar already in 6th or 1st. Also good as just a confirmation say, checking you're in the gear you think you are before a corner. Don't knock it til you've tried one.
