Liz received a message from Carsick's dad via facebook this morning.

Michael "Carsick" Carrick sadly passed away at the weekend. We dont have anymore information than that.

Many of the South West Crew will remember Mike from AR's, soggy wet trips around wales and Poole Quay nights.

Condolences to family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

If you wish to get in contact with Mikes dad, he is on facebook his name is Dave Carrick, if you PM or message Liz she can pass the details on.

Yup that was it.

I met Michael a few times as he was a regular at soho for a while, he even crashed over at mine one particularly late night after soho and a stunt show afterwards.

He was a good guy and always fun to hang out with, ive often wandered what he's up to and if he's gonna surprise us at Soho one night. Guess not now :(

My condolences to his family, RIP brother biker. :(

Awfully sad news.
Never met him, he was easing his way off the forum as I joined, but I loved his user name. I always thought it was so appropriate, now I understand where it came from.
Enjoyed his posts and would loved to have met him.

Hi all, & thanks for the kind words. The message is spreading from bookface & finding more & more of his friends all the time, even I'm surprised by how many people he knew and I know he knew many who'd known him, knowing him (some light relief to a bad situation).

It was a very bad start to 2010 for sure. I'll pick up what I can from here, any more stories peeple have about his life I'd be grateful to receive. He & Me were slowly getting better aquainted again after some tricky years with divorce from his mother etc & we had some great times at a few festivals & parties but was looking forward to really making it happen in the future.

I'm going to have to be extra nice to people now to make up for his loss from the world and the love that he can't spread personally any more, though I know I can never have the impact on people that he did from what I've been hearing. I do think his legacy will carry on without him though and the ones that met him can't help but pass on some of the humour & kindness he showed to them.

Should have mentioned his page is facebook.com/mcarrick

Keep an eye on it for funeral date etc and any of you that can make it we'd love to see you but don't take personal risks to make it, we don't want any more bad starts to the year.

Aw Mr Carrick, thanks for taking the time to post here. If you use the search function on the forum and find some of the posts Michael wrote they may give you an insight into what a fun, witty guy he was here and how much he was part of our community here for a while.

I always enjoyed his tales about his trips home after a night at soho, busy dodging the sheep and ponies as he rode thru the forest roads on his way home.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Sad news indeed, hadn't seen Micheal for a few years myself, but for a time he was a regular face at Soho, in fact I remember him turning up on the friday of the Christmas meal for his first visit (the China town one, whatever year that was), surprisingly sensible to talk to and he visited my gaff to do some work on one occasion, I to thought at some stage he'd pop up again at Soho.

Generally cheerful and a nice guy.

Condolences to family and friends

I'd better point out that it wasn't his bike that killed him if anyones got that impression, as he didn't have one at the time. Still don't know what it was for sure.

I bet he's having a good laff at us now tho wherever he is.

I guess that is often the assumption on a bike forum sadly, and nobody wants to pry too much into details at a sensitive time. Thank you for the update.

Just for the record I didn't assume it was him riding his bike that is what caused his demise, but, as a bike rider he is and always shall be brethren to everyone here.

What is important is that he is at peace and that the people that are closest to him can take comfort in knowing he brought much joy to the world

I read about Hovis, very sad as well. I've also heard about a few others recently through people. Death & destruction all around us, and in the bigger picture our own experiences of it may look insignificant, but they never will be, as we are also insignificant.

(That was a bit poetic for me)
