aye they look about right and the description says they fit. Slightly expensive for what they are though (literally a few coins though). Would go to a local bikeshop for convenience personally - reckon they'd probably be cheaper too.

£15 inc postage
Mine were either £9 or £11 for oem replacements. Are you sure the dealer wasn't offering you sintered/race pads? (unnecessary for the rear brake imo, considering the way I ride)
Wemoto do them for 17.50 and then 2.50 for shipping so it's not a bad price

Go for it then, especially considering your local can't beat it.

yeh the dealer said to go for sintered pads, from what i read they have a longer life and i use the back brake most of the time, just wasnt too sure about those pads as the teeth on the side arnt the same as the pads in the caliper atm, i had them appart to clean earlyer

That's up to yourself then I rarely use my back brake so don't think sintered are necesary probably different in your case then. I wasn't aware sintered pads have a notably longer life ,although kind of makes sense bearing in mind they eat disks.
They look correct. Wouldn't say sintered are that important on rear but, like Davenumbers, I don't use the back brake much, if at all.
I've used gold fren HH on the front before and thought they were pretty good.
I payed about £15 for EBC organics for the back of mine from the dealer.
Don't know about oem pads for the rear but the one and only time I asked about them in a dealership they wanted something rediculous like £80 for the fronts.
The photo is only an example,so dont worry:p

I only really use my rear for slow control, and occasionally when riding so oem are fine. Sintered on the front though 8)

+1, although I am running EBC organics on the front with gixxer forks and calipers atm, way better than sv brakes even with HH pads.

Contemplating the swap myself tbh.

You won't regret it.
Probably be able to sell on the standard front end anyway so it'll not cost that much in the end. Gets rid of the nasty knocking you sometimes get over drain covers etc, brakes are a lot better, pah, you probably know all this anyway.
If you do, try get later ones with radial brakes, the earlier ones are a nightmare to get hold of calipers for and the radial calipers are no more expensive. Also the later shape gixxer mudgaurd (k4,k5) is better suited to the lines of the pointy.

i would love a gsxr front end, i love the look of the upside down forks and the front suspension on mine is far to spongy for my liking just havnt seen anything yet to buy at a reasonable price
Get some hagon progressive springs in it if you haven't already, they are about sixty quid and a cheaper option to a front end swap but I know what you mean about the look.

Depends what you call a reasonable price. In my opinion a gsxr front end conversion is one of the best and most cost effective upgrades you can make.
Why? because it leaves you with two options. You can either sell the sv front end and recoup a lot of the cost of the gsxr parts, or you can hang on to the sv front end and when you come to sell the sv swap the parts back over and sell the gsxr parts on again.
It probably took me the best part of 6 months buying bits and pieces on ebay, the biggest hit being £250 for the forks, yokes, spindle, stem, wheel and discs from one seller, then £15 here and £35 there for things like clip ons and calipers (probably less than £350 for all the parts I needed).
By doing this I also have accumilated some spare parts (gsxr bottom yoke and stem, gsxr ignition switch with key, gsxr steering damper) that I could sell on as well as the sv stuff if I wanted, but I'll probably keep the sv parts and put them back on the bike when I sell it.

No point to progressive springs on the SV , the forks are too short to take advantage of them , Use Linear instead . I have Maxton Linears in mine and the front end is very sorted for me with the correct oil in it .

Yeah, there's no point in progressives when linears are available, wish I'd known about them when I was buying they're supposed to be better and about the same price of progressives. That said progressive springs made a massive improvement on stock!

I wouldn`t say better , they just operate in their optimum environment , Progressives are just not needed .

They are if you don't know about linears :p

Pretty much all can be made to fit I think, Yorkie chris has some in the for sale section at a good price.

Was going to mention YC's forks but thought you had your eye on them Dave.

cheers, I do but I'm waiting to hear back from insurance re. yay or nay, then I'll have to price up all the additional bits - no point in yc's sale suffering if he can sell it between now and then.

Aye my current insurer Bennetts won't touch them but the policy runs out next week and I'm changing to Carole Nash who seem to view upgraded forks and brakes as a good thing.

I'm with my insurer til october, they did tell me when I took out the policy "mods are ok if they're road legal" but I want it in writing before going through with it. I know how insurance companies love to void policies.
