didn't much like the bangs. Neither did whoever was holding the camera, by the looks of it.

I'll have the engine, pass on the car though. :)

I want a GT40. American muscle engine mated with a uk chassis for handling.

Did anyone see the GTO in the related vids? That was insane, and only barely in a good way.

Orose, you mean the one with what appears to be twin superchargers?

Yeah, it had twin superchargers and they were talking about it having nitrous - 1600hp and somewhere in the region of 950 ft/lb of torque. Sounds like a good plaything, on a drag strip ;)

You lads would love working in my shop.
Plenty of big block's and hemi's still around.

And if it's the sound you like...We'll have trouble keeping you out of our little work truck.
Not supercharged but one of the sweetest sounding things you've ever heard.
I let people drive it and they come back with this silly grin stuck on their face. LOL

They sound OK, the Cobra at Goodwood last year, you didnt so much as hear it, but feel it, it was rumbling through the ground and was vibrating my spine.

They are nice, but I much prefer the wail / shreik of a nice V12...

If it wasn't for the sky high UK fuel prices, and the crazy £405 annual road tax for "High emmision vehicles", my daily motor would be a fully loaded Crown Victoria Intercepter model with the 4.7 V8. Driven sensibly they do a respectable MPG for being a V8

My cousin in Canada bought an ex police unmarked one with the full leather at a police vehicle auction cheap. Loves it for the space, comfort and that gutsy police tuned V8 engine.. high mileage, but if the motor's been regularly serviced, and looked after, it'l run forever

My regular work ride is an Irish Scania V8 truck with the twin alloy stacks at the back of the cab. I love the sound of them as you accelerate the big 16 litre V8 diesel. Sweet....

me too

Spannerman's henchman, Bill, has a really nice V8 chevy van (i think its a chevy). It sounds really really cool, definate perk of visiting (amongst the other great things about going there)

Yep, that sweet unsilenced sound, but with twin vertical alloy exhaust stacks (1 each side at the back of the cab).8)8)

Hear me coming over the hills going to the ferry at Stranraer & Cairnryan each night...:)

I'd buy a muscle car just for the sound! Would have to go for the gorgeous (although typical) Shelby Mustang GT500, or the stunning AC Cobra! Want to rent one when I do an american road trip - thinking New York to Miami!?

Nice :D I once followed a cab to boxhill (not so safe to overtake) and the driver was proper going for it! It sounded really cool, all deep and rumbly like it was just gonna pull and pull

Really quite fast without a billion tonnes of crap to tow aswell

hehe I remember the sound of the V8 corvettes at the le mans 24hr. You didn't so much hear them as feel your guts get rattled about by the noise. Same at donnington 6hr where you can stand by foggys right near the track and hear them boot it down there. Hehehe

I'm sorry, you WANT a crown victoria? For the love of god, why? It is easily the worst car I have ever driven (and yes, I've driven lots, even lots of american stuff). This car made me sick as the suspension was sooooooo soft (the police version might be better in this respect, however, they may have just replaced the shock absorbers with girders) and considering the size of the car the passenger space and boot were tiny. Yes, the engine will last a long time, but the rest of it won't, the build quality is, as with a lot of american cars, absolutely shocking.

but hey, don't let me put you off.

Spent the weekend Land Rovering, helping set up the courses for trials on Saturday and Marshalling on Sunday.

Lot's of 4-4.5litre V8's being used at full chat trying to climb hills. Fantastic sound

Here's a very short clip of GG's brothin in law NEARLY climbing a hill in his. Sounds AWESOME in the flesh, let me have a go yesterday too... I WANT ONE

Growing up my Dad's neighbour restored classics as a hobby/retirement-fund and had a rather large collection. One of the cars was a mint Shelby GT500 convertible (can't imagine what it's worth these days). I'm pretty sure it's idle rpm was 2. It shook the windows in the house.

He also had several classic vettes, caddys etc - about 25 cars in total last time I asked, and stores them in a barn.

Stretchie - that one sounds like mine, bit it's in a '68 swb 2a so I get a lot of odd looks when I start it up and roar off. It's even better in an underground carpark! Well worth the petrol money :)
