Go for it. But what's the point of off-road tyres and clipons?

So go with handlebars, I find clipons horrible in town. And I wouldn't even try them on anything off road unless you are this guy:

Urban riding you want some sport touring tyres. I've ridden bikes with semi-knobblies around town before and they were no advantage. Best would probably be some race wets or something.

So are you doing this as a styling exercise, or because you want to build a fun bike to rag through the city?

I would be looking at turning it into a motard/adv bike hybrid type thing then http://www.supermotojunkie.com/showthread.php?p=713138#post713138

what about the gearing? my 650s is running with 4 teeth extra on the rear sprocket. but for i bike like you want i would consider a even lower gearing.

I use these as my wet weather rally tyre (and the occasional Sunday morning play), especially on the front. Just be warned, I only get about 350 miles out of a rear, and that's if it stays wet!
