My god- if it was hit by lightning, life would 'ave begun all over again. You could have sculpted what came out of there. If you're that way inclined.

Didn't shift all the gunk- but much improved things, methinks. Gave the worm drive a clean and lube too. Those bearings are fidlly with rubber gloves on, aren't they?

Just need to replace the gear lever/footpeg now- it's seizing up and so clogged I can't seperate it all to clean proply like. Placed a thread in wanted, in case anyone's got one they're getting rid of. (curvy bike, btw).

Least the clutch is set up better now...

Will need to get a sprocket cover soon- the bolt sockets are rather split... A slight case of overtorquing, methinks...

I bet you can separate it if you try hard enough! Bit of heat and faacking 'it it! ;)

I bin faaaaaakin' 'ittin' it already.

May give it a go next time I go see Spanner Man for the usual service, smut and coffee treatment. Got nowt to really heat that amount of metal up...

Seriously batter the thing. It will move. Then toss the bushing thing out and it will work. It will be sloppy, but it will work.

If you want to shift all the crap off that area, get a bristly brush and a gallon of turpentine substitute and brush it on. It cleans it easier than owt I've seen.

GT85 makes short work of grease too. Gave most of the assembly a good clean. I may look at going back to Wurth dry lube. Chain fling makes Makes a right load of bother cleaning!

Under the front sprocket cover - this might be one of the most overlooked places for cleaning your bike. Well done for getting after it!

Call that dirty? That's nothing compared to what mine was like. The grime was about 15mm deep in places...

lol yer I was going to say the same Donal, mine was so packed with carp I was surprised the thing actually went round. The top pictures looks like mine does now after a some cleaning and clearly more to do.
