I had the most amazing burn up at a set of lights on sunday with a ninja turtle green lambo! driven by a very attractive young lady, who couldnt stop giggling when i gave her a wink at the second set of lights that we came too.
Was only popping around to my girlfriends who lives about 10miles away but so glad i was on my bike!
best ride i've had all year :) so i thought i'd share it with you (well breifly)

Sounds sweet! Great how little things in life put a big grin on your face. Like a hot chick in a lambo. Ok, so not that little in this case I suppose, but you get the idea...

4 sets of lights up the Finchley road on the way home from Lord's. Beat this lad away from the first three while he basically gave me a load of sexist abuse to show off in front of his scantilly clad girlfriend on the back. Then let him roar away on the 4th set straight throught the speed camera while I tootled past at 28mph.

Oh you are evil :smt074 I like you.
Not traffic lights but a series of short dual carriageways and roundabouts against a Mitsubishi evo 9. In the wet.
To be fair he was probably a sh*t driver, if I was driving it I would have blown myself away (he was still tryin though).

Porsche GT2 last summer.
He was being a knob with VT and myself behind him and just sitting in the right hand lane of a dual carriageway.
He didn't know what hit him as I squeezed past him and left him for dead :)

im restricted off the mark on the compton road in wolvo, the evo 8 doesnt stand a chance till about triple the speed limit when i let him past me.
On the M5 through bristol when its clear sticking to about about 80 a Porsche 911 turbo over took me so i stuck behind them and as they slowed i shoot past them rev'ing the b*lls off my sv i saw a hot 19-21 daughter in the passenger seat with a milf driving, either that or they was sisters but the passenger looked young and the driver looked quite a bit older. i did slow to try and get there numbers at about 100. they giggled a bit and left the motorway before without giving me a number.

:-k
the best race i have had with a car was against a ferarri on the m25, me on the ZX6-R , on the way back from a track day.
leaving a contraflow speedlimit of 50 , he came p behind me, i heard him drop a gear so i dropped to 2nd. as we came to the end, we both gave it the beans, he had his ass handed to him on a plate. It was like need for speed, both of us in and out of traffic across all lanes at well over a ton, untill he chickened out at 140ish which i was glad about as much more the zx would have started so slow bit at over 150.
As i turned off for my junction, we gave eachother a thumbs up and a wave, both apricitive for the fun on the road.
the Mrs caught me up a few min later on her gixxer shaking her head at me disaprovingly.

Some nutty DR on a bandit, caught him at lights on the way home from uni. Sunny but it had absolutely hammered down about 10 minutes before I set off. Had a good bit of a dice heading to the M-way and both flat out up the slip road spinning up over the white lines. Big grins.
Tend to leave cars to it on the Mway as I can't be rsed hanging on at 100+ all the time and the SV isn't that quick at such speeds. In town fair game and the SV's pretty well suited.

lol,
Most PM will know the location, but heading from Leeds towards Hudds on the M621 its 50mph for a short stretch. I like to stick to 50 then roll it through to motorway speed at the national speed limit sign. Just approaching that point and a merc (no idea what model) and a 911 (no idea what spec) but they came past both doing the same as what I'd planned 911 came past second then moved across in front of me looking for the undertake on the merc. I knew I couldnt pass them but I didnt want to be left behind and miss the show. At the point where it goes into 3 lanes I'd caught them up. They didnt seem to be sprinting but just trying to see who dare go faster than the other so I did prob the single dumbest thing I've done on the bike and wound it the whole way round and up through the remaining gears as the hill climbs we were all well in the instant ban range, SV still pulling I took them both through the middle I kept it wound on but they both slowed down. I know they could have gone faster than me but it still made me all smiles.
Other than that have never raced anything.

Not me personally of course, I'm much to responsible..... but a mate of mine was riding across France on his brand new FZR1000 (it was a while ago) with his girlfriend on the back when they came up alongside an Aston Martin. Aston speeds up, mate speeds up, Aston a bit more, mate a bit more. At about 150 the Aston driver decides enough is enough and backs down. Few miles further up the road they pull in for fuel and the Aston pulls in behind. The passenger in the Aston who happened to be a rather attractive young lady wandered over to my mates girlfriend and they started discussing how men will be men....until she asks "oh how fast does the bike go"? My mates girlfriend, all innocent like replies, "Oh we don't know, we're having to take it easy until it's run in". Comment was obviously relayed back to the car because the look on Mr. Astons face as he left was priceless!

Had a good tussle with a 911 carrera 4s. Me and a buddy were travelling along a dual carriageway at about 70-80 when we passed the Porsche. After we had passed, he decided to put his foot down a bit, we pulled out behind him to overtake another vehicle and he slowed. After a hundred metres or so, I decided, screw you, so gunned it and stuck it up the inside, he dropped a gear or 2 and nailed it to. We were fast approaching a car on the inside lane (the lane I was in) and a corner at well over triple figures. I thought, I ain't backing off. I rode the white line, bouncing all over the shop, whilst sticking it between the 2 cars. I swear at one point he was less than a foot away from me, whilst I was banking it over. He bottled it before the corner got too bad, and I just hung on for deal life, hoping the bike was up to it at that speed!
Coming out the other side, I looked back to see his girlfriend having a right go at him! lol
If he had bigger balls, the story would have a different ending!

I used to love doing the TLGP down the A45 going into Birmingham, south yardley to tyseley, 40mph and *loads* of traffic lights. I'd nail it off the line, stick to 40, some 100yrds later the faster cars would come by doing 50+ only to have to stop at the next set of lights. I'd filter to the front and repeat. :)
Occasionally there would be another bike, 99% of the time they wouldn't try or were blown away. One of only two times[1] I got bested on the SV in the TLGP was down that bit of the A45 and by a girl on a GSXR1000, first set of lights I filtered up behind her, wasn't expecting her to launch it that fast, fluffed my launch and was left for dead. Next set of lights I lined up in the next gap across and gave it a full bore everything launch and pipped her by a nose to ~40 but she kept going when I backed off.

[1] Other time was an R1 in an NSL, pretty even up to 60 but then the R1 just buggered off.

i had a good one with a few people a while back; bloke on a zx6r, a little nsr125 and a coriour (sp i know!). I was too enthusiastic and ended up popping a wheelie which ruined my chances of the win. coriour dude got away dead quick, he'd had all day to practise. 125 guy was actualy quite good and zx6r man just about won to the enxt set of lights
How awfully childish!
I just can't believe how dangerous some people can be...
Anyway, first run out on the VFR and I'm filtering between 1st and 2nd lane coming up to the lights when they change a bit earlier than expected. I wound it on a bit, and released the clutch I'd been slipping. WHOA NEDDY!! I went past the two cars either side with the front wheel up in the air - adrenaline is brown.
Several years ago, on a bimble out in the sticks a Mini decides to see how close he can get to my rear. SWMBO suggested we pull over and let him past. After a few miles we come to a bend that gets tighter, and tighter, and tighter. Footpeg is bouncing, SWMBO is tapping morse code on my back with her fists. I look in the mirror as I exit the corner to see the Mini going thro' the hedge. There is a God, and he is a biker!
You are all very naughty, and should behave more responsibly.
Yeah Sunday me on the SV my mates 600 RR and an audi TT wa great fun mine was so loud

Oh, now one sees thy point. Do carry on then! ;)
my favourite time was coming home from a track night and my brother was in front of me in his car, he only had a 1.8 astra coupe, but drove it at the limit everywhere. he was a bit annoye when i was able to overtake him and stick the finger up at him as i passed.
I've never been good at fast starts, against cars it's obviously easy, but against bikes I'm not so good. I had a little go with Binky away from a toll booth in France and he rinsed me (him on his SV, me on my gixer).
I have a friend who allegedly managed to find the limit on an SS600 whilst jockeying for position (some would call it racing) a Lamborghini Murcielago on a motorway. Fool.

Quite apart from most of these appear to be tales of 'friends'.
Unless there was a death or accident the police would have to notify at the time or within 14 days, lay a case with the court within 6 months and start procedings within 3 years.
I for one haven't riden my SV on the road since 2003 and barely riden a bike in 6 months (sob).

not on the bike but in a car, i toyed and blew away some bloke in a Q3 when i had the ST3, then decided to take it round the local "hardcore modders" meeting spot outside halfwits, not to stop thos oh no, i utterly destroyed some spotty oik in a polo ......... ah i need that back :(
edit: ford st3 not ducati
My last one was in the car (modified TT Supra) on the way home in the dark.
Pulled up to the lights (single carriageway) when a dark BMW pulled up behind me, thought it was an M3 but not sure.
Now some (but not all OK) BMW M3 drivers think they drive quick cars and like to show them off (unlike their indicators) so when the lights changed I gave a little prod of the loud pedal and proceeded at a sharpish pace away from him :D
I was starting to smile to myself (I admit a bit madly) when I noticed he had an unfair advantage - namely two small, but bright, blue flashing lights in his grill :(
:smt014
After we had a short discussion, I went on my way, sweating and thanking God (Budda, etc etc) that the straight bit of road was only about 1/4 mile long and that he was a kind and reasonable policeman (although he was a little forcefull about my future driving career if our paths ever crossed again).
Lesson learned, always double check - sorry, I mean never race on a public highway. :salut:

I had a similar experience one New Years Eve. I came around the Elephant & Castle driving my wife's car with her and a mate in the back. Stopped at the first set of lights and this Astra pulled up alongside me. Driver blipped his engine a couple of times but I didn't look across. Lights went green and I smoked it away leaving the Astra for dead. Only a few yards to the next set of lights where I once again ended up stopped in pole. Astra came up alongside again, this time to my offside and I couldn't resist looking over, only to see two nice Met officers smiling back at me. Got a tug around the next bend and we exchanged a few sentences, most of mine including the word "sorry". Fortunately they were only on the look out for drink drivers and I continued my journey whilst suffering further lectures from the rear seat.....

I had one with an ages old Triumph TR7(?) with 3 20 ish yr old uni lads in haha. I didn't have the heart to burn it past them plus i was laughing too much and sat laughing with them at the next lights :P
The 600rr is no match for top end stuff, I doubt many 600's are.
Fortunate to know someone with a couple of nice cars of the itallian mark.
The 600rr pulls away in the first 2 gears, is evenly matched upto the limit in 4th but then top end cars pull away at a staggering rate, the cars pull past 150 and way beyond at the same rate that the 600rr pulls to 130.

One of the few places you can really play car v bike is at the Nurburgring, but that's also one of the quickest ways to come to grief there. Cars generally have the advantage on the brakes, and turning into bends, bikes win on acceleration and their ability to straight line some stuff, top end is very much down to the bike or car. Generally if I'm leading onto the finish straight nothing comes past before the cones, but it's been close a few times!

few good ones was had a insignia vrx (500bhp) chase me down the fosse, car seemed to be a bit of a lardarce round the corners but was blisteringly fast on the straights but managed to keep out in front for a good few milles then he turned off
crusing down the A45 from leamington (joined at the island that goes to wolston) heading for rugby, had a old scooby with a chav "in it", up my ass as i caught the traffic up so as we got to the second big island i pulled in to the slow lane as he went past me but then did him over on the island coming round him, as we both pulled to 100(kph ;) ) he started to drop off as the road is so lumpy for cars and dident see him again
ohh and on the MT-03 tried to take a cateram super 7 on a set of lights..... dident hapen the thing took off like lightning
lol all good fun

Just against any car that I've come across who seems willing. I've always won when I'm evidently battling. When I come across bikes I know are faster, I pretend to just be courteous and let them go first..

Had a few tussles with Ferraris and Porsche turbos over here on the thou. They knew the moral victory was mine but anything over 200kph they seem to get quicker whereas the bike seems to only carry on accelerating at the same rate.
If we every got a good enough stretch they would be gaining quite quickly by the time I was showing 250kph.
