Hi guys,

I have had a problem with my SV650S 2002. It has happened 3 times in 2 days. The 10A ignition fuse blows whilst I am riding along. It doesn't seem to follow a pattern apart from I am accelerating. Has anyone had this or can they please point me as to where I should start looking.

thanks for any answers

Elio

It was a wire rubbing on the chassis. Thanks to those who replied!!

I had the 10 amp ignition fuse blow once. Replaced it never traced a problem and it hasn’t happened since, some 2 years or so now.

However if yours is blowing regularly I would suggest you have a problem, most likely caused by the loom rubbing through and shorting somewhere. As you have a curvy, this (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=145356) thread has some good details of the usual places to look for loom damage. Give these places a check and take it from there…

I had a similar issue on my old curvey where the alarm cabling was shorting on the frame. Like Squirrel said.
