I;m trying to tighten my chain and kinda stuck on the axle nut, the start i know, which way is to loosen, left or right.

lefty loosey , righty tighty ;)
Might need a long handled spanner/breaker bar. Always loosen the spindle before adjusting the chain (turning the adjusters)

remember to tighten the nut again at the end.

Only on AR.
New chain/sprocket kit fitted shortly before AR, after an incident on the way down where the front sprocket came off (Long story as to why that wasnt fit properly). But anyway on arrival at AR I decided to take the slack up on the chain got distracted and forgot to tighten the rear nut up, remembered 3mile into the ride out so had to head back to camp. Ended up going for a little ride later on turned out to be the 2nd best day of riding I've ever done but started off terribly humiliating.

All done and back in bristol safely so i guess i remembered to do it up, lol
