View Full Version : Do you do anything more enjoyable than biking?
Would be interesting to hear how many bikers actually find something that they do on a regular basis more enjoyable than their biking.
For me, biking is the most enjoyable thing I do regularly without a doubt!:D.
Other than the obvious, you mean? ;-)
I collect my old tax discs and get great pleasure from tipping them onto the floor and then resorting them in date order.

Skiing, surfing and diving are similar, but I don't get to do them so regularly.

Chemistry, photography, long walks in the park
TBH, my love for motorcycling is dwindling. London is not the place to remain enthusiastic about two wheels...
...but a blast down to brighton today did remind me why bikes are just brill

I can't play it but if I had to choose having either biking or pianos in my life, it would be the latter. I just don't get enough time to try and practise.:(

I know whats also better than riding
helping my dad to get one of his project bikes running after its spent 10+ years unused
Honda VFR400R NC24; started on 2, then 3, then all 4 cylinders. Lots of smoke and bits flying out the exhaust, but what a moment!!!!!
Yamaha XT250 - got that started today. SPent ages kicking it over, taking it in turns. Choke, no choke, throttle, no throttle. Dad nipped down to his workshop and came back with a can of easy start. One squirt in the air filter housing. Kick...no start. Kicka again...fired up. Engine sounds really realyl lovely for a single, really smooth and quiet :D
(pic thread soon)
yea, i love helping getting old, unused, unloved bikes going again.
Never mind, you'll find your soulmate eventually, keep your chin up.
lool. well I hope my gf doesnt stumble across this someday because then my chin will be really screwed.
yeeh obviously cept stuff like eating, sleeping, peeing when your bladders full, and the big one!

Road cycling. It comes very close to motorbike in fun levels. 45mph feels like 150mph on a motorbike!

There is one thing in this world that beats everything else, being with my partner Carol and the adventures that we have together. Bikes are fun when we are together, walking is fun when we are together and just sitting on the sea front holding hands is the best fun in the world.

Apart from the obvious it is pretty much an even split between diving and racing/biking!

Scuba Diving, Snowboarding, Horse Riding and doing pretty much anything in the amazing company of Mr VT.
Others that come close but arent as much fun:
Rollerblading, Ice skating, Cooking, learning to play the electric guitar.

Best answer to date...
Take care of each other.

Sadly age now precludes me from so many of the more energetic pastimes, including exs.
I miss rugby, 5-a-side, rock climbing, table tennis...
I sort of 'do' golf. Beer, definitely real ale beer followed by beer.
I do enjoy riding unaccompanied on escalators, and speed knitting. And exs...

Since Holly lives almost 200 miles away I obviously don't get to see her as much as I'd like. But the time I do get to see her is 100% more enjoyable then biking. :D

Apart from TEH SEXENGS, I do quite like my Xbox 360 and am rather gutted that it's broken in January which means I can't go and catch up on biking while it's being repaired!
I also like getting drunk and travelling, often at the same time.
Getting wasted (pub or club) but then that ruins the next day and i cant ride but i would probably say i perfer riding and driving over any thing else

nothing quite like a bung jump, the only thing is everytime you jump the guy who tied your rope on takes great pleasure in saying oops just as you jump, it makes your heart beat faster as your getting closer and closer to a concrete face lift.
other than the obvious answers anything where theres a high chance of death if something fails, rock climbing, jumping from planes, etc etc etc

As geeky as it is I would go with this also... I do like a good game on the 360.
Bike wins everytime in the summer though.
Would love to be able to say my jobs... but alas, not yet.

Hmmmm...being out on a bootiful spring morning with my bins and a camera, that I enjoy. Drawing also but not if under loads of pressure (a bit of pressure I can forget about), that satisfied feeling when i finish a picture. More than biking though...Different kind of enjoyment, the thrill I get from biking surpasses most things :bounce:
nice meal out with family and friends.
oh, & sex.
Wow you obviously have a very liberal family !!! Is that before or after Pudding?
Anyway I miss footy and if I was still playing and had to choose I would choose footy.
Pubs.
Getting a bit ****ed now and again.
Friday afternoon when I finish work.
Skiing.
Festivals.
Miss the violence of boxing and rugby. :(
