Just wanted to say that I can't believe what amazing, wonderful, loyal and fantastic friends I have made on this site.
In fact my best friends are on here and I met them on here, what would I have done without the .org??? :smt049
Today myself, Mr VT, SVStorm and Warthog went for an impromptu rideout in the Cotswolds,we had a really great time and although it was cold I had my heated grips which worked a treat!
We will be definately be planning some proper rideouts for people in the area or who are prepared to ride up or down to meet us (always welcome to stay over at ours if needed).
Here are some pics of where we went for lunch.

Im beginning to reconsider the 'amazing friends Ive met on here' bit! :smt064
Hey you, I think a visit to the GM is well overdue, when are you going to invite me and a few of the nutters from up here around to yours for a indoor BBQ again ;)
...or if you are prepared to pack your clan, come up and visit us! xxx

Looks great!
Shame I was at work, I had planned on getting the bike out to go to work this morning at a chilly 6.00am but (wait for it, here come the excuses) I was cold and it was foggy, I need a new Pinlock insert, I've lost my tyre pressure guage and there's a chicken coop in the way of the bike. Plus,
I couldn't be arsed!
Roll on the good weather.
Pete ;)

Yes it would have been nice if it was a tad warmer but nevertheless it was good fun, despite Nick leading us down some sort of mountain road that had a offroad course down the middle of our lane.
Mr VT and I tried out our new bike to bike coms which were excellent, upon reaching this point he said 'we should have brought the crossers' hehe
Was really good, looking forward to taking some of you lot next time xxx

It was great fun and lovely to meet you all :).
For anyone interesed, the pub was The Mount Inn, in Stanton, right next to the legendary Fish hill on the A44. Local beer from Donnington Brewery in Stow-on-the-wold, log fire, and good food. Really good target for a ride out. The weather was a bit drab, but with heated gloves it was tolerable. Here's to a fantastic 2010 of rideouts for everyone :).
Aw. You've changed your signature. I liked the one from The Mill On The Floss, what a terrific novel it is:D

Just for you....!
It's definitely George Eliot but I don't know which novel. Come to think of it, she lived and wrote not far from where you (VT) are. I don't recall that theme in Middlemarch (which is the best novel ever written IMHO). I'm wondering - is it from Adam Bede?

The look of disgust on my face when Warthog told me we now had to ride down the very very steep hill. My response "You want me to go down that hill on a motorbike? Are you mad!!! After you just took us down that "dirt track", Heres my keys, You do it ! "
Ha ha ha
Once again thanks guys, really enjoyed it :)

No its Mill on the Floss again...just for you.
She lived in the Midlands, in Nuneaton but she is buried in Highgate Cemetary, I used to go and visit her grave when I first came to London and lived in Highgate.

Nat: I really wish I had gone down that hill first, I would have forced you to ride your bike down, it was really so easy, it looked so much worse than it was, you would have been fine. I think you underestimate your capabilities!

You should get yourself some textiles with lining - I went out in mine on Saturday - warm as toast :smt023

We have a couple like that round here - they look horrendous as you approach but no problem actually going down them :D
For those who don't know - George Eliot was really a woman, Mary Ann Evans. She wrote using a man's name because she thought that books by women wouldn't sell. Her novels are fantastic, some of the best ever written in the English language, with vivid portrayals of life in the English Midlands in the first part of the 19th century. No they aren't boring, they are utterly brilliant:D

I'm definately going to look into getting some textiles even though I swore I would only wear leathers. I've been told by Fizzy Fish, Warthog, SVStorm and you now so I guess I should listen up lol.
Im open to recommendations as I lived in South Africa most of my life and am particularly thin skinned and therefore really feel the cold quite badly. Mr VT is learning to live in sub tropical central heating ;)

+1, well I think after Ive finished this novel I am reading at the moment I might just read my way through her books again, I havent read them since I was in Matric (6th Form) which I found them to be quite a good read after tackling Cantebury Tales and a few works by Shakespeare!
Adam Bede is lovely.
Middlemarch - just fantastic, brilliant novel:cool: my favest read ever.
