Anyone got any old ram laying about
PC 3200 / 2700 DDR 333 - 184-pin DIMM, 512mb or 1 GB sticks?
Happy to pay for it, but I'm upgrading the comp in a few months and don't really want to splash out £50 on two new sticks of ram which could be redundant on the new motherboard, but I have just had one module die and 512 seems underpowered at home compared to the 4gb I get to play with at work.
Thanks
Alex

Mainly Autocad but I have a lot of pictures to go though and file, 1gb was fine, but to max the board out I need 2gb and its a matter of what I can get hold of / scrounge as I would rather run equal ram in each slot.
Cheers Dave20046 I await to hear!

bugger only got a 256 stick of pc3200; got a 512mb stick of pc2100 though if it's any good to you. Also got an unknown 184pin stick which I'll put in a system to see what it is.
Have probably got 2gb kicking around in my old PC in the garage - no idea what I am looking for though
It was upgraded to 2gb a couple of months ago, but now just permanently displays BSOD so have replaced - let me know what I am looking for and I'll see what there is!

Can you run 400mhz?
Scan computers do a 1gb stick for £30+P&P?
I'm going to be getting some for my folks' pc, as their ram has died (this does seem to be a common thing on those old Dell machines)

Looks like the bit on this page, it will be on the main board, clipped in. If you unclip it, it more than likely has written on the side what it is and its spec.
I would be very grateful.
Cheers

I can get it cheapish.. but I know a lot of ppl here are techno peeps who like to upgrade and i know from experience it sits in the box o crap waiting to be used again one day and would rather spend as little as poss at the moment, plus being green cant be bad.

In regards t a previous post, yes the faster ram will just operate at the slowest stick speed.
