View Full Version : Switchable TRE going for SV1000 (or 650 if you want to change the connectors)

I made a switchable TRE years ago for my SV650 pointy. When I found I'd made it with the wrong connectors for the 650 and the correct ones for the 1000 I gave up on it.

I've just found it and would like to give it to a good home.

Mine looks like this one only with a longer cable and a little less well perfected:

DISCLAIMER: I've just read some of the supposed pros and cons with this mod so if you fit it and your bike blows up don't come running to me. If you fit it and your house falls down, again, don't come running to me. If you fit it and your legs spontaneously break in two, don't come running to me.

I think it fools the ECU into thinking the bike is constantly in fifth or sixth gear so that in first and second gear it doesn't retard the ignition which it does to keep the power slightly down. TRE stan's for timing retard eliminator.

Spend a bit of time on google and you'll find out more. I made it switchable as apparently it can cause problems with cold starting.

I'm pretty sure it's only for the fuel injected bikes but have a look around on the internet.
