Hello,

I've just purchased a Cyrus 6vs and I'm having a few problems connecting my speakers.

My previous amp was a Cyrus 1 which used banana connectors. The 6 doesn't have banana connectors, but what look instead like some kind of phono sockets? (almost like reversed banana's?)

I've been to my local Maplin and they have nothing that looks suitable (they look a fraction too small?) and Richer Sounds didn't know which ones it took. They said contact Cyrus!

What are the right connectors that I need to put onto the ends of my speaker cable??

(my speakers are not bi - wire either, but the amp is. I don't think this should be a problem.)

Regards,

Ben.

Looking at the rear view on the Cyrus website, they do indeed look like reverse phono connectors, tehrefore using female phono plugs. I would give a sensible audio shop a call. I know that Sevenoaks sound and vision sell Cyrus kit.

What are the speaker plugs that are fitted to the Cyrus amplifiers?
Cyrus uses the internationally recognised 'BFA' connection system. The benefits of these connectors are that they give at least the same contact area as an equivalent 4mm banana plug. They have much greater mechanical strength than 4mm banana plugs and are totally shrouded for consumer safety. Each amplifier is supplied with four plugs and additional plugs are available from our Spares Department.

Cheers Viney,

I did indeed go to my local Hifi specialist who provided me with some which look a bit like these...

As Viney said they are BFA connectors, similar to banana's although they're almost 'inside out'.

Thanks,

Ben.
