I need some new front discs. I was going to get OEM, but why not bling it up and get some wavy discs :smt039
I have no idea what makes are good or bad. Can anyone recommend a make?

I'd recommend going for a well known brand such as EBC or Armstrong etc etc. I'm sure I've heard horror stories about cheap blingy discs.

I've got a set of Braking Wavy Discs on my SV Thou - they work a treat & look great too !

I went for Galfers on my double R and I had no problems with them. Just a bit more than the OEM discs to replace.

I've got Braking ones on my SV and on my XR650 and I like them. Strangely I put a pair on my GSXR track bike and started going through a set of pads a day, I kid you not! I appreciate I was using Ferodo racing pads in Brembo calipers on the GSXR where I use EBC on the SV so it might just be a case of making sure you match pad to disc.

I bought mine as set (front & rear) from Bandit & SV Mania.
If you are on a tight budget then these will take some beating!

Personally I'm not a "bling" person and went for boring plain round ones from Stealth and I'm very pleased with them. I've only done 1k or so miles on them so far, but this did include an Oulton Park track day. The only down side is they are made to order and you will have to wait a few weeks for them to arrive. Worth the wait I thought.
EBC or Armstrong discs but what pads are best as im interested in upgrading my discs and pads.

If you go with EBC disks go with the pads to match.

I like EBC HH with standard sv brakes.
edit:Infact might have some brand new packaged ones for sale as I've bought some gsxr calipers

I liked and disliked the EBC's on standard suzuki discs. Braking *was* ace but they took a while to warm up before they worked which contributed to two fallings off.

Only place I can find the Armstrong discs other eBay is this place. But it is like £125 for each front disc is that right? Turns into a slight expensive upgrade at £300 plus VAT plus pads. Hmmmm....

From jesters £259.95 including postage. I've already got new EBC pads waiting to be fitted
Just for fronts I take it. See I think I would want to do front and back if I was going to do it, lol

Yeh just the front discs. My back disc still has quite a bit of life left in it, so there's not much point changing it. But I would prefer it was the same. It'll probably get done next winter
Out of interest what mileage did you get out of front discs ?
Cheers Steveg
