Are you buying through work? My work computer goes through German servers so websites think I am in Germany. I get lots of German adverts and stuff.

I did have an on line account but don't any more, never got any messages like that though.
How come it's illegal to buy a ticket if you don't live in the UK, i was sure there has been a winner from abroad, i'll go rummage.

lol, i must be special then :) maybe its cos i changed address from northern ireland to here... i won £10 which they credited to my account so maybe they not that convinced i'm illegally obtaining lottery funds..:smt083

How can it be illegal (!!) to buy a ticket? Are there big signs up next to every corner shop lottery machine saying, "Johnny Foreigner, don't buy this, or the shop keeper will be forced to put you under citizens arrest"? F***ing stupid policies people make, just put in the t&c's that you can't claim winnings if you were not resident in the UK at the time of purchase and let Johnny Foreigner buy tickets if he wants to waste money!

You get the message about not being in the UK because of your 3G dongle.

3 is an international network owned by Hutchinson Whampoa, covering 9 countries. 3 also have a deal with T-Mobile to use their network, and T-Mobile are merging with Orange, which is a massive global network owned by France Telecom. The mobile dongle service works from anywhere in the UK, and some do global roaming as well, so websites can't see where you are, so they could just display that message to every one whose location they can't determine, or it could actually be that you are hitting the internet from a point on the network that is outside the UK.
