Ideal fit for the *ahem* heftier pointy rider, bought with the intention of fitting it to mine but then realised I can't mod my seat to take the battery height needed as I have a corbin seat.
looks only lightly used, no definitive mileage but its off an 05 bike, I've owned it and had it on a shelf since 08, so I suspect it can't have done many.

Supposed to be one of the best value mods to SVs handling (I'm guessing because its cheaper than forks)
Only wish I'd been able to try it, but I like my big comfortable seat too much :)

Any idea on whether this will fit an 02 curvy SV . . I recently tried to fit a ZX-10 shock to mine but the spring was too wide . . probably weighing in at about 14 stone fully loaded . . any ideas from yourself or anyone else? :D Thanks . .

This is not suitable for a curvy as the spring rates are all wrong (search for the useful table). I fitted a ZX-10 spring to my curvy with no problem, I suggest you start another thread to resolve your issue.
Sorry for the derail Brettus. Hope the sale goes well.

Blatantly plagiarising the shock table:

Thanks, sounds about right for what I want, so registering my interest. Have to check finances in the meantime so don't hold out if someone else wants it.
will this be any good for a K5 650s?

Yep IIRC the only different pointy is the K3 with a few minor tweaks but I suspect the shock would still fit that.
a K5 should be the same stock shock so this is 2.5mm longer.
From what I can remember it needs a different kind of bolt for the bottom? someone correct me if I'm wrong. There was a thread on it somewhere, but getting one of those bolts should be trivial, probolt should stock them.
I think that's right anyhow, didn't want to not mention it and someone find themselves stuck or not realising etc.
out of interest mate, how hard is it to fit, is there a noticable improvement?

I couldn't tell you from personal experience, I bought it and would have fitted it and I have limited mechanical knowledge, the only reason I couldn't is you need to modify the seat for the battery to slide up into it. I can't do that as my seat is a custom one with different shape.
to fit it you need to:
source the bolt (if I'm right about that)
loose fit the shock, then cut a notch out of the bottom of the battery box to accommodate the reservoir.
lift the battery up on something inside, usually a bent U shaped tray piece of metal
because the battery is raised the seat needs a rectangle removing from the plastic underneath. (quick job with a dremmel or even hacksaw) measure twice cut once.
then everything fits and you can bolt it in for good.
I'm told it makes a significant difference but as to how much that is and what you are expecting I don't know, I haven't tried it myself but figured for £50 I'd give it a go.
Sorry I can't be of more help, a search should reveal some more detailed instructions, thats just what I can remember from when I looked into it. someone had some decent pictures of the process, lozzo perhaps. seems to spring to mind.
