I am going to try get my car licence at the end of the month with my birthday money.
I have been thinking about doing one of these 5 day crash courses so its over and done within a week or so, instead of doing lessons over a several months.
Has anyone on here had any experience with these kind of courses and if so any feedback would be appreciated.
I am based in Manchester so if anyone knows of a good school around here would be helpful .

Friend did the one in Blackpool, he said it was lots of standing around a very production line feel to it but he passed which I guess is the main thing.

i did it in 2 days
the main thing is can you actually drive a car, not to be funny but i could drive a car very well before i took lessons ,it makes thing so much faster, its the basics you need before you start clutch control ,bite point parking etc
A mate done his. you get about 4-5 hours a day behind the wheel with your test at the end of it. He failed, but thats becaue he was a nob!

So i take it you did yours at the Blackpool one Dave ?
if you ride a bike then i reckon your should be able to do it as you will have good road sense already. driving the car is the easy bit, its avoiding the nobs on the road thats the challenge.

Yeah been on the road on bikes for 5 years, so avoiding the nobs comes naturally.
I have drove my dads car on a large car park at night ... and was ok with the clutch and stuff... so i think i will pick it up well.

Disagree. Even a small car is damn big really, and getting used to the size and the slowness (as compared to a bike) takes a while - eg in judging how much room you have to get through. Also the feel of the controls is totally different.

Can you already drive a car? I could and did 5 lessons before my test. If you can already drive I would save your self some money and just get a few normal lessons it wont take you many so you shouldnt be learning more than a month or so.
well i rode bikes for a couple of years then got a car, but i learnt to drive when i was 13 so that prob helped.
yeah it does take a while but i think if your confident already on the road you shouldnt have a problem, the way i looked at was i was gonna do it, and keep doing it until i passed. like my bike test. its not to bad. best to get out the way now as they are only making it harder.

You need 5 days to learn how to crash??? I can do that in one!!!

I'd had my full bike licence a couple of yrs before I did the intensive (crash) course. All you are doing is learning a new vehicle, you've already got the road sense.
Worked for me.
