Okay, I'm on tender hooks now and had a drink or few.

Tuesday I received an email from my old QM (quarter master) Captain "Scouse" Murry saying that the person killed in Afghan was my mate Dave Markland.. **** news that nobody wants to hear.
Wednesday I get another email from my old unit saying there is a space on the bus to go to WB (Warton Basset) on Friday. I know I'm on Guard commander that day so **** happens and all that. but thats not one of the crap news things.
Today I go to sign for my Duty with the RSM, and he says can I look at his car as it's making knocking noises. Who am I to say no... So get car into workshops on ramps after a quick drive around camp in RSM's car.
Knocking on left hand corners, get car on ramps to discovers right hand CV boot adrift, Grease every where apart from where it is meant to be an a very dry and loose CV joint.
Just the then my phone rings and it's my sister, sounding in distress, I say calm down whats the matter? It's Andrea... she fell down the stairs last night and this morning they turned off the machine...
Andrea is my cousin who I grew up with, and a few years ago we lost Adrian, her brother, to a fire in Manchester.
So now I sort of keep it together and put the phone down, take the RSM's car off the ramps and take his keys back. I tell him that his CV joint is knackered and that his front pads are very worn down.. I'm almost crying at this point.
The RSM looks at me and ask's if every thing is okay?
"No, I've just lost my cousin and as a double whammy, my mate is getting repatriated today as well."
He Say's "Go Home - I'll sort it."
I go back to the guard room, stag on for a while then one of the lads turn up and says, "Richie... DO one, RSM's orders, go home, I've got your duty, you can owe me one pal."

So now I'm just waiting for the Third piece of Crap news...
Sorry for taking up your time to read this, it's just a little vent of how I'm feeling at the moment.
Keep safe out there.

Don't be a stranger!

You can talk!! Where the hell have you been for the past three years?????

***

Anyway. On bad news. My 86 yo mum was admitted to Kent & Sussex hozzie today - Tunbridge Wells - she woke up with a heavy nosebleed, she lives in a warden assisted apartment, so she called the warden, who didn't like what she saw, and dialled 999. Off in the ambo, the nosebleed wouldn't stop, and still hasn't as the hozzie can't stop it either. She has had a few mini strokes and the docs gave her warfarin - I think they gave her too much. Hozzie say's she's OK and only in for overnight obbo until they can stop the bleeding but here I am 250 miles away and of course I'd like to go see her but the fkin hozzie has novovirus on the ward so won't let anyone in:rolleyes:
