I remember a band called Hatfield and The North.
Named after a roadsign.
Showing my age:rolleyes:
Anyway why not London? Its full of refugees from the grim north.:D

Well if it were in Wolverhampton or Bristol or Norwich would that make it easier or harder to get to?
ThEGr33k
13-02-10, 05:10 PM
Mid country would be nice... At least then its kinda travelling distance for most people. Wolverhampton wouldn't be so bad to be fair, infact Norwich as well wouldnt be.
It just irritates me, yes London is the capital, but that dont mean everything has to be there. Parking is just terrible, traffic is terrible... its just crap.

I'm so sorry  Shall I ask a mod to delete the thread?
Or just tell them to cancel the concert 'cause you can't make it?

Because London has a big wall round it and is impossible to get to  FFS, i come down from Scotland to London 2 or 3 times a year to see bands, seen Muse at Wembley and the Albert Hall, Carter USM in Brixton, nipped down then up to Knebworth for Sonisphere... If you book in advance on the train this'll still probably cost less than it would to pay to see them headline a show at the NEC or wherever.
Still, I'm very disappointed they're not playing in my house, it's very inconsiderate.

Yes and yes... :)
I was just having a moan about many injustices done to None Londoner's, it just feels like anyone else don't matter when everything revolves around that place at times. I think its often that most foreigners think Britain = London. *shakes fist*.

Burnley? Dunno.

It might be the capital but its almost as out of the way as it comes... anyway ill leave it at that.

I reckon if you drew a circle round London radius about 100 miles you would find over half the UK population lives there.Thats why everything tends to be London centred.Geography.

Cheers for this Stu , and I`ve seen Northy wandering around the wilds of Knebworth . Registered anyway :)
Right, if anyone gets tickets on Wednesday morning and has no one to take my registration details are:
You will need your registration number 273454 and post code GU1 1RLIf anyone wants to tell me theirs as I have no one to take if I do get tickets.
xXBADGERXx
16-02-10, 10:07 PM
Registration number 400696 and Post Code LL28 5DL
Want me to do the same for you just in case ?
I took the day off so I can try for these , am I correct in saying that BOTH people had to register to get tickets , or if you registered just yourself then you would only get 1 ticket .
No worries , I went and looked at the site and if you want 2 tickets you need both registration numbers .
That would be cool Badge' ;)
yup you can only take a registered person. - We've got each other's number so we can let the other know if we get through
xXBADGERXx
16-02-10, 10:22 PM
Well I will be up early and ready to enter details a 8:55 then hitting enter at 9:00 :)
If there's over 400,000 registered it's going to be busy ;) (going by your number)
But it seems to be that you need to be persitant & keep trying rather than just first. :)

Well that's bull**** frankly :( Mate of mine is away so couldn't register, what's the point in being allowed 2 tickets per registration if the other person also has to be registered? Bit annoyed.

Good luck everyone! Would be cool to have an org contingent going!
On a rather smug side note, it will take me at least 20min to CYCLE to the gig from my girlfriends ;-)
xXBADGERXx
16-02-10, 11:00 PM
Cycling bays are provided if you have a Smartcard thingy at the gig you know , no provision for motorbikes so I will park up somewhere in London and tube it in to the gig if I get tickets . Heck I might even just get the train there and Hotel it .

If you book well in advance I reckon thats the best option. means you can have a "few" beers too!
xXBADGERXx
16-02-10, 11:04 PM
There is that , I`d better start saving for the Beer now cos it will be £4 for a fifth of a Pint

That's unfortunate :( but if it wasn't like that then you could sell half of your allocation.
No help now but all you needed to register him was a photo. Didn't seem much time for the registration process :smt102
xXBADGERXx
16-02-10, 11:25 PM
Well the gig can only hold 40,000 so the registration purpose was probably kept short on purpose .

Ooh just found a mail in my Junk Folder , it contained this info
PLEASE NOTE. THE SYSTEM WILL BE PROGRAMMED TO ACCEPT TICKET APPLICATIONS ON A RANDOM AND EQUITABLE BASIS. IF YOU FAIL THE FIRST TIME, TRY AGAIN AND AGAIN UNTIL YOU ARE EITHER SUCCESSFUL OR THE TICKETS ARE ALL GONE. WE WILL INFORM EVERYONE WHEN THEY ARE ALL GONE.

I'm just getting the black page with 'Your request is in queue', it refreshes every 20 secs but I've been getting that since 9 o clock. :(

17-02-10, 10:03 AM
aaaaaaaaaaaaaah, is anyone actually getting a ticket. This sucks.
Nope, been trying since 8:50 and keep getting the "you're in a queue" message. Bit ****e really, there are only 40000 tickets and I would have thought they would have sold out by now, but it looks like their server model can't cope with the number of hits.
wow, how do you get into the queue, or even onto the site at all?
I take it is just http://www.seetickets.com/RATM/
xXBADGERXx
17-02-10, 10:37 AM
Yeah Stu , that link will get you a Black Screen eventually , you select your postage method then you enter the queue of Doom .
Linky (http://www.seetickets.com/RATM/reg_track.asp?pricetype=1) - although it's not a queue as such, it just refreshes the page every 20 seconds.
xXBADGERXx
17-02-10, 10:40 AM

I have a ticket. I hope... [-o<
I think the black screen with 'Your request is in a queue' is the lottery system they referred to in the email - about 20 mins ago mine changed to a screen where I could put in our registration details, then when I clicked submit I got the second screen taking payment details for recorded delivery of the tickets.
Just waiting for a confirmation email now, but the site did say it might take up to six hours for it to arrive because of the huge demand on the site.
Try now, you should get through
EDIT -> If you substitute your details in the right places below you should be able to get to the next stage:
https://www.seetickets.com/ratm/orderform.asp?showcode=456704&pricetype=1®id1=<REGISTRATION CODE>&pc1=<POSTCODE>&filler1=id1ratm (take out the "<" and ">" symbols)

xXBADGERXx
17-02-10, 12:52 PM
Yeah I did see that , he also sent me a text , I was just conveying how long ..... 3 hours ? , of staring at nothing for nothing if you catch my drift . Then again we had a 50/50 chance of getting through . The amount of times I thought we were through and nothing happened and I was gutted ............. and hopefully Stu has made the cut .
For those that have not made it then RATM are actually playing Donington Download Festival this year as well , it`s a damn good line-up and I am also tempted to go for that as well .
philbut
17-02-10, 12:57 PM
I'm going to Download after a few years break. The ticket price shot up dramatically about 4 years ago, but this years line up is very very good - and I'd love to see AC/DC! The last year I was there, people were rioting on Sunday night, and they called in full riot police!
Still p*ssed off about not getting through after waiting on the bloody site for 3 hours since before 9 :-(

The email i got came from 'donotreply@seezz4.com' if that helps, hope you get your tickets guys...
Any other .Orgers got tickets & want to meet up at the gig, maybe go for a few beers after if I can find a place to stay nearby? None of my other mates got tickets so at this point I'm going all on my own!
happy to meet up with anyone, but i doubt very much you will care about being on your own, or even be able to stick with anyone once the music starts!

I was hacked off that I missed registration while in Thailand so had no chance of going. Then realised I have to work that day anyway. So I have to run around after Hugh Grant who is playing in a charity cricket match while you all get to see RATM. Great.
But I shouldn't complain too much as I did spend 5 years working for Epic with Rage and have a pair of Brad Wilk's drum sticks in the pencil pot on my desk :)
