Just got some flowers off Chris. A dozen long stemmed red roses held by a little teddy saying I Love You. Early I know but he was worried about them being out of water for too long.
Ahhhhhhh ..... my first bunch of flowers from him, ever, just cos he knew I would like them. Jenni already dobbed him in by saying "and we're gonna make breakfast in bed for you tomorrow!" lol
I tell you what I got him tomorrow x

I don't want anything tomorrow, not getting anything and neither is drew! He buys me flowers on odd random times when he wants to, I'm not expecting them and he does have to be hinted at to buy stuff.....
however, have no problem as I know some people like the day...... as amanda said tho

I'm trying to have the least romance-related weekend possible! :D
So far I have eaten as much garlicky food as I can, and now I'm sat watching gangster films...
Tomorrow I shall mostly be sat in the pub watching the rugby.

I have a memories box for everyone in the house, just a cardboard files box. I keep stuff in there for them that I think they would like. The kids have their school work, any awards, all the useless stuff they make at school etc. Doesn't mean much at the time but when you look back its lovely to remember.
Mine has cards, handmade stuff from the kids, general bits and bobs that mean something to me. So yes, I do keep my cards. :smt058
snap I have scrap books for all cards, bday cards etc, tickets for things I have been to see etc,
I have scrap books going back to when I was born though and I have always carried on the idea. Sadly there isnt much of a card giving tradition here so now Xmas cards are only those that get sent to me from the UK.

Although Amanda I have to agree about the keeping cards thing, on the rare occasion YC breaks away from the normal tradition of "Ugg" (closely followed by #grumble grumble feckin romantics grumble#) and buys me a card (with something written in it no less! :shock:) I keep em all....
...merely to use as emotional blackmail/shameless embarassment material when the time is right in the future you understand muahahaha :smt077

Its a depressing day so I'll spend it at work just a sad reminder really and im going to make it my business to make every one elses as miserable as mine will be ;)
Valentines is baloney. There to remind the singles that don't like being single that they're single, and there to make life harder for the non-single man.
Well actually its there to make money, but these are the nasty side-effects.
I bought a card for wifey about a month ago and I put it away some place so's she wouldn't find it, and now I can't find it either. I'm going to be in trouble:confused:

falc and I normally celebrate valentines this year we are just exchanging cards, like lily and drew i get flowers and gifts all year round. Besies falc is working today

I got a card, a rose and a box of nice chocs.
I told Peg yesterday I don't really do valentines stuff. I got him a smutty card though.
We are taking each other for a curry later....suppose you could think of it romantic.
i got a funny card and chocs. DD got a bug in a mug (it was meant to be there) and a card. Nearly a child free zone today (only 1 not 4) so having a fairly quiet day, playing with dolls, reading books and doing jigsaws.

As per what Lily said......neither of us feel like we need a particular day to tell each other how we feel. I buy her flowers when I feel like it and therefore its a surprise. However, we have treated ourselves to huge racks of ribs to try with GG's rib rub.
But if people wish to partake in valentines day.....then so be it. I guess its each to their own.

I got maria a card and wrote some nice things in it and also put in some of my handy-work with glitter.
I made a mess doing it though and i tried to spell out the word "valentines" with these stickers i got (heart shaped) but it went wrong a bit and I had to bodge it about

I think it's a reet american rip off, so instead of buying presents we went for a nice meal out together. I even ate gentlemenly and all that shizz. (according to herself).
.... then rather less romanticly we got wasted. (that was all last night)

I got a card today :)
got the missus a card, a ted and cooked her a 3 course dinner! she was happy so thats good enough for me.
Well, other half got me flowers and a teddy but the card is STILL!!! sitting on the side unwrapped and unwritten. Last night I said I'm popping upstairs for 5 minutes to sort the kids out so you will have time to sort that card ....... FAIL
I got him Fast Bikes Mag, Ron Haslam Supernike School DVD and Joey Dunlop TT DVD, a work belt (private joke) and an air freshner for the car. :D :D :D

I wouldn't have minded, but I haven't seen him for over a week, and I'd been away from home for 3 days at a residential school - I thought I'd get spoilt when I got home, but nothing. I feel neglected. (And I remembered to post his card and sort his present out before I went away.)

We went out to a really posh restaurant, which serve up some seriously tastey curry :-)
I know I said we were going, but this was really classy. None of that town centre curry hut after ten pints, out in a village.
