My 06 SV650S has been stolen from my home address early hours of Friday morning. It is red, no modifications, some slight scratching to the grab rail where my errant husband attached a bungee cord, and is reg WV06 FXG.
Someone burgled the house and took the keys, then broke through the locks on the back gate. Yes we had a ground anchor and hefty chain but they took my keys from the house and simply unlocked the bike while we were in bed. :(
Made off with the bike and half our house.
I got married on this bike and also did a 1000 mile in 24 hours trip on it - after waiting four years to afford it, I finally bought it new in 2006 just for someone to come and steal it from me....
Please keep eyes open for me - I am absolutely heartbroken
Thanks

Sorry - location is Connahs Quay in Flintshire. Was taken in the early hours but the police tell me that the automatic numberplate recognition on their cameras only work for cars, not for bikes....
Thanks for the advice, its appreciated
Really sorry to hear it, hope it turns up soon or you get a nice insurance payment for it :grouphug:

That's because they are generally forward facing. If they emptied your house as well then it's probable it all went in a van. If there are ANPR cameras near your house then they might be able to identify the van so don't lose all hope.

They originally thought they had used my bike as transport at helmets, coats and gloves also went - but since then so much has turned up missing that we are certain that they must have used a van.
One of the neighbours has handed in a home CCTV tape to the police which pointed to my back yard. We are hoping that will show how they left. Then, if they are in a van, they can check the cameras again - it is only if they rode off that we are a bit stuck
Thanks 8-[

cbay - insurance are really taking their time even getting back to me - tried to get hold of them twice today and got told "someone will call you". But the person I spoke to initially seemed to think it would be OK as keys were stolen from in the house. Fingers crossed...or this could be my SV days over - which would be devastating
matt - sorry to hear that mate!

Here are some pics of the bike - it wasnt modified in any way (unless you count the fact that it needed a good clean!) so it isnt really unique ...but still...you never know...
Maybe it hasnt been exported or smashed up or sold off in pieces yet :(

I will keep an eye out as I am in Wales too. Not all Police Camera's are forward facing, so, they will pick up bikes, but, I doubt it'll have this plate now, or, be in one piece...

Real bad news, we were broken into and motorbike and car keys stolen, needless to say neither were there in the morning.
The bike was found the following day, so there is hope for you yet!

Will keep an eye open around Chester and Wrexham for you. Never had a bike or car stolen, but it must be a dreadful feeling.

Pile of B*ll*cks, got stupidly pulled for no tax(because I didn't check the disc). That needs an in-car ANPR. They're just being idle. Flintshire's in North Wales isn't it? Good to see they have their priorities straight there then. My sympathies, i've never had anything nicked off me, would be massively gutting to lose the bike. I hope it gets recovered.
sorry to here that m8, i hope thing will work out.
i had to move my bike a few weeks ago from the front of my house, a neighbor over the road seen 5 lads near my bike but seen one (scumbag) at the back of my pride & joy looking under the cover, all locked up but still not nice knowing that some one has been eying up ur bike. but by the time my neighbor got to the front door the RATS F**KED OFF. so for a few nites i was waiting in me van partly dress in my bike gear & a BIG BAT (LOL)
iv moved my bike to my m8s bike shop, until i can alter my back yard door so my bike can fit.
GOOD LUCK M8

Hope that you get it back again, having your bike nicked is horrible, lets hope that it is returned to you very soon. As for the memories you will always have them even if you never see the bike again.
On another note, I hope that Bike thieving scum break their damn necks, not just motorbikes, but pushbikes too. I see so many sad people who have had their only transport taken away.
As for the Insurance, they will always take a bit of time, but lets hope that you are fully covered.
Blessed be.
