I think i might have to sell my beloved sv650, but due to a old knee injury it is becoming more and more difficult to ride and move around. so i want to test the waters to see if they would be any interest.

ok its a 2001 y reg curvey
she has no tax or mot currantly as most of you are aware i have spent the last six months stripping and cleaning her.

its got around 17302 milage on it but the clocks read 13435 this is because of the front end conversion.

all that have seen my thread will see what i have done to it.

I have not made a definate decision on selling yet but i think i need to seriously consider it.

I would like around

£1700ovno

It's worth not having £1700, to look at it forever until you die

Hook the engine up to something, and have it as a really flash generator for a shower or something

Or make it into a table

Or make it into a table
I know someone that actually did that. (although it was more of putting a table cloth over it and a vase on top so as to satisfy a landlord's inspection )

Think long n' hard about it liam, you've put a lot of work in :(
Is the knee not likely to let up in the near future?

unfortunately those braces are more designed for ligament support (trust me I know all about knee pain) what is actually wrong with your knee and what op's have you had ?

I to found I couldn't bend far enough to ride an SV, so made a drop plate for the S4 which helps, but hard work and a fair degree of painful determination have worked through a lot of the scar tissue to now make it possible if still uncomfortable to ride an SV, alot depends on how much you really want to of course and what you'll put up with.

On a practical level is it's just cartilage then perhaps a daliy dose of Glucosamine Sulphate would help, however if it's far more serious than that and you have actual bone damage then transfering load from above to below the joint is the way to go.

I have one of these for that purpose

Notr cheap, but it will keep you mobile when by all rights you shouldn't be.

Cheers Mark.

About 10 years ago i was hit full on sideways by a car and my knee took full force of the impact, so now unfortunatly i have little to no feeling in my right leg this isn't the problem but after a while and if i get tired my knee locks up on me. I have pain in it all the time but the specialist i saw told me there was nothing wrong and i must deal with it!!! needless to say the specialist was working for the third parties insurance company! My own doctor said that it was cartlidge damadge and that they would not be able to help and recomended that i get a knee brace and use it all the time, but as of yet i have not been able to find one that works.

That one looks the buisness where is it from??

cheers

Liam

If you don't have to sell it, as in don't need the cash, DON'T. I had to sell my pointy for the cash and it's the biggest mistake I ever made car/bike wise. I regret all the time.

A 10 mile spin every once in a while is better than no bike!

Perhaps the peg brackets from the N which are lower and more forward by a little might allow the knee to be a bit straighter and allow a bit more transfer of weight from leg/knee to bum. All that work to watch someone ride it away?? Noo.

Well you are all right i can't do it i took it outside yesterday and moved it about 20 feet i just can't sell it it's awesome! just a point aswell forgot but the foot pegs are of a naked one as me and boot didn't swap them as i thought they were the same.

:winner:

not only that i could not watch someone else ride it.

Perhaps you can use these as well, to lower the footpegs so that they're just that bit lower to give you a bit more relief in the knees

I've got a pair on my Sv, as my old knees & hips don't like the S riding position.

But you can adjust them to raise them in a jiffy if you need to
