My SV is broken, and was wondering if there might be someone who can lend me a part, to help diagnose which part I need to replace.

Simon, Andy, maybe something one of you could help with? I'm happy to collect/return, or pay postage.

It's as curvy! Saturday would be fine Stu but I'm guessing yours is completely different being FI and all that jazz!

The curvy one just does ignition so a pointy one wouldn't work.

Sorry Sam my curvy has gone now so can't help out.

Yup completely different. I didn't think the curvy's have an ECU, so what is it exactly that you're after?

I know what your after, one of these?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SUZUKI-SV-650-CDI-ECU_W0QQitemZ200440534866QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Mot orcycle_Parts?hash=item2eab2fd752

If thats what your after then yeah I do have a spare, but as you can see in the link its not a cheap item. I dont mean to offend Im sure you'll understand but I dont recognise your forum name despite the 500posts and been a member for 3 years lol. If someone could vouch for you as a sound upstanding citizen etc lol then I'll post it but as it stands, to me you could be anyone and I'm effectivly posting you £100 and just hoping you return it. :)

To add to that, bear in mind normal postage gives only £39 compensation so it really should be special delivery at £5.40? each way.

It is indeed that bit I'm after! I want to eliminate it from my investigation (in police terms!). I'm sure most (all?) of the Thames Valley lot will give me glowing references!

You mention it as a spare? If my bike fires up with it plugged in is it for sale?

As Stu mentions, it would be wise to pay for additional cover (which I can then refund, and return using the same method).

Oh, and good news Andy! I just need to get mine working, clean and polished, take some pukka photos with it on a Paddock stand and get it on Bike Trader!

Yeah its a total spare, I had plans for it but they've fallen though so its nothing more than a paper weight to me at the mo. How about you buying it from me at an agreed price, I'll do the recorded delivery anyway at no extra cost, then if it works and you want it you just keep it so no messing around. Should you not want it then I'll effectivly buy it back off you at same price and you also would send it back recorded.

Sorry not been on the internet last couple of days. Have not internet connection in the new house yet and not been in work over the past two days. I am transporting all the bikes from old address to new at the weekend. I'd be happy for you to borrow the part from the SV if you still need it. But due to the volume of work I have to do this weekend, I'm afraid you'll have to come and remove the part yourself if you still want to borrow it. Bradford-on-Avon. Text or PM me if you want to come and get it, I'll give you the full postcode.

Cheers

Si.

Thanks all, I've messaged Matt and have hopefully secured the part!

You're welcome to come round Ian, Saturday would be good? The bike turns over, but have no spark at either plug. I've narrowed the cause, and have a few things to check and parts to try.

Sounds like you're in the right area. Have you checked there is power going to your ICU?

You should be able to sell your bike OK now the weather is getting better. I've had more interest in the past couple of weeks than in the last couple of months!

Ian, pm'd!

I have checked the power to the ICU Andy, it's just under 12 volts I think. I have an ICU another ICU to try, and am sourcing a signal generator thingy, as this fails it's peak voltage and resistance test. I have a couple of other tests to do, but I suspect it's a part that has failed rather than a wire or connection!
