just got a real bad twinge kind of in between my obliques (the side muscles from your ribs down to your hips) and my abs (hidden under my tummy). If I keep my legs still and bend backwards gently I can feel something pulling really tight & painful over my left pelvis area...

Mine was an umbilical hernia and that was horrible, it felt like you would imagine and I had to push fatty material back through. However, it was actually quite minor and required an afternoon in hospital. There are other types that hurt loads less and still require a slight nipping up too, but can be more serious if unchecked. Make sure you see your GP if your pain continues or gets worse, you could well have damaged something if it hurts a lot.

Good luck.

Long story short, I had one about the size of a tennis ball until I was about 6 - which the doctors never picked up on. To me, at that age, it felt like a constant sharp stomach ache.

Do some press ups, then you'll know if you've got a hearnia! ;)

With what you describe I'd think your kidneys were warning you, you gave them too much alcohol recently.

Watch the signs Paul ;-)

Paul. You may or may not have a hernia. What you are describing could also be an inflammed lymph node, and there are plenty of reasons for this. It could also be several other things.

Can you notice a bulge anywhere around the painful area? Have a look at the area. Cough, does anything bulge out when you cough? Gently put your hand over what hurts, and cough. Can you feel anything pushing out? These would indicate a hernia.

Hernias have variable signs and symptoms, but surgery is usually recommended to prevent complications. If you're worried, or the pain doesn't seem to get better, book youself in with the GP so you can get properly examined.

Good luck mate

I get that after a heavy night on the lash!

Maybe its the drink?

I don't drink me....

Nah I'm putting a lid on the drink for a good while now that dave preston is out of sight.

It's like a muscular thing, I was kind of stood upright but on my knees, leaning slightly backwards when I felt the pull - this isn't a position I really do very often so it's prolly just me being unfit. Can't feel it when I'm stood up right on my feet so prolly just a bit of stiffness.

Thanks for all the tips and I'll see how I get on :)

Unfortunately you have one of these critters growing inside you. No cause for concern, take two asprin and you'll feel fine in the morning
