It's even more rediculous when the Arabs and sheikhs come over for summer. I've seen 3 veyrons outside the Dorchester once, not to mention the other significant stuff always there.

that veyron is an edition centenaire, 1350bhp :) llf the sound of it was actually amazing, it was spinning the wheels moving backwards and forwards at the petrol station

That maybach never moves from where it's parked on park lane either. Right outside that abandoned £15m house that squatters keep moving into.

I've seen that veryon

I thrashed it

it was stuck in traffic on the A40. Whats the point of a squillion pound car when all you do is let it get hot idling in traffic?

Oh so true, its terrible.

Not that the veyron is a looker in the first place, it mings. Its only how quick it is that makes people look past the looks.

I feel sorry for people like that with a big powerful car. With petrol prices increasing the way they are, they might have to downsize

I'll get my coat :)
Do like the Veyron, but really, not in that colour!

Technically from 2008 they were not supposed. Rumor has it someone was hit by an arabia plated car and it drove off. Witnesses were trying to describe the plate as wiggle wiggle line wiggle and it was big and black.

All the wiggled line actually are number... So last year there was a lot of Arab cars driving around with 8 number on a uk style plate.

Not sure how accurate the above is.

Living in London, you see cars like this all the time. But the only time one car has ever made my jaw drop was a white porsche 959.

You don't see one of those every day (dream car since I was about 6 and it's taken me 20 years to see one in the flesh!)

Yeah, bleurgh! Should have went and stood around the collections point of Harrods, there are always stupidly expensive machines parked up round that way. Anywhere in Sloane Bridge area to be honest. I seen a Ferrari 456 estate there last year! Made to order those things, only seven around!

You can't use much potential of a car like that on UK roads so.... but then the same arguement for a R1...

..I'd say its the price factor.

We see quite a few flash sports cars in the village I live in because we have the closest petrol station to Bedford Autodrome.

I grew up lusting after Aston Martins because one of the Directors of the company lived over the road and had a succession of new and classic ones to use. If we were standing at the bus stop waiting to go into town he'd always stop and give me and my mate Ray a lift. Over the years we were doing that I think we travelled in every major AM model produced since 1960, and a few rarities. The village was also on the Aston Martin test route where they took all new cars and prospective buyers - Newport Pagnell, where they're built, is about 8 miles away from there.

The R8 looks good by itself but get it parked next to a real supercar and it just looks dull and out of place.

id have to disagree, the R8 looks much smaller and nicer than most supercars, id have one over a ferrari anyday :)

fastdruid

It just doesn't look like a supercar. I certainly wouldn't have one over a Ferrari (although only if I get to pick the Ferrari, F40 for me :) )

Don't get me wrong, I'd have an R8 but I'd be thinking of something prettier.

Oh yes, I'd have an m12. :)

My dream supercar isn't a modern one though, I want a GT40

fastdruid
13-03-10, 02:14 PM
Yes, would have to be a kit car I think for me to ever afford one, an 'unknown' road car goes for lots, a pedigree one with race heritage goes for OMG lots. Makes modern supercars look cheap... ;)

Not so sure on the gumpert, its insanely quick yes but really not a looker, as a track car otoh... ;)

Druid

barwel1992
13-03-10, 02:33 PM
to be honest i dont think id drive any supercar on the road not with the way most car drivers drive, but id have a sports cars like caterham super 7 :D

and as a track car the gumpert would be insane
