does look very mean. I just don't think I could own a bike without a fairing. Well, not whilst I can't afford a 4th bike anyway ;-)

The trouble is I see a bike but the brain thinks "Short Circuit" ...."Number 5 is alive"

yes, yes i would.

and the only mods I would do would be loud exhausts, some sort of crash bungage and maybe some handgaurds

Looks gay compared to the original. It's a Brit bike, it's meant to look like it will make inappropriate comment about your missus then drop you with a headbutt after 18 pints of lager... not like some Eye-tye fanny who'll comment on aftershave and flounce off back to the organic aisle to buy some pasta.

Just meh. It looks like they've fitted a load of shiny crap because it looks good. Like the paint, hate the wheels, exhausts, seat, gay radiator handbags etc.

Very nice, i'll take one please, love nakeds, but after learning on one dont know if i could cope with no wind deflection long term.

It doesn't take a lot to make quite a bit of difference to wind deflection, I rode my SVS like this:

For some while and it wasn't appreciably worse than with the 'full' fairing. Have to actually try it to see though.

What about the Standard AplinestarHero Mod??

A good point...I'm not certain I could you know, I think I'd have to buy a Tiger so I can at least own A triumph with that particular, unique modification

mind you, then its not an alpinestarhero mod...putting a topbox on a bike which dosn't normaly wear such apparel....

....ok, i'd stick a huge topbox on it, 52 litres!

I reckon that they'll announce a replacement later this year. The 1050 Speed Triple and Sprint ST were announced (iirc) in September 2004 and the first bikes became available in early 2005. So I'm guessing that they're reaching the end of the line. Rumour is that Triumph have something pretty amazing up their sleeves.

I reckon a replacement is due this year. I'd have been riding a S3 for the last couple of years were it not for the pillion requirement for the Mrs to be, not that I've been unhappy Sprint. Will wait and see how things pan out with the next one and how my life is before I consider replacing my current ride, though have to admit my Dad's Street Triple R is tempting, given I do miss the relative lightness of the SV.
