FG1
07-03-10, 07:54 PM
Do I remember this date being mentioned before?
I have booked holiday for that weekend so yep, that's a great weekend....

Stu

philbut
08-03-10, 06:02 PM
Oh ar*e. as soon as I posted that I remembered I am actually busy for at least some of the weekend. If it's reasonably localish I could make it down for the latter part of the weekend though.

If your thinking of camping during the May bank holiday weekend then you should camp down near Hastings and do the May Day run!

If you guys decide to camp there then count me in, I live in Bexhill and have been looking for some people to do the run with.

eviltwin
15-03-10, 09:28 AM
Listen, keep it real guys.

Camping in Kent and a May Day run surrounded by dirty, smelly, noisy motorcycles or go to Wiltshire for this (http://www.wanborough.info/mayfayre/scarecrow_results_09.html) :flower:

Stig
15-03-10, 10:23 AM
I vote same place as last time. :)

Living within walking distance means we'll all de-camp back to your new place if it rains Stig ;)

Stig
15-03-10, 10:30 AM
No worries there. :) Not quite walking distance but close. :) :)

Have plenty of parking and I am sure the next door neighbours would be overwhelmed with happiness to see a fleet of noisy motorcycles turn up. (They are old and as far as I can tell a bit snobbery). The other neighbour is a member of ZZ Top. Or a close relative.

sarah

I'm defo up for Wiltshire!

sam anon
15-03-10, 07:58 PM
Wiltshire!

But either is fine by me! I'm not seeing my twin brother before he emigrates to Oz* to go camping, so count yourselves lucky.

*Actually a lie. I am seeing him, but he was also going to stay the night in Windsor before heading off to Heathrow.

eviltwin
15-03-10, 10:08 PM
Windsor, schwindsor. Bring him to the TVSF for a good session with the billy goat before he heads off

eviltwin
15-03-10, 10:11 PM
So shall I get the self appointed TVSF rally secretary (I've heard she does want a patch on leather waistcoat to this effect) to actually book this then?

Warthog
15-03-10, 10:16 PM
So would I be back for the 3rd? I might have to go shooting on the 3rd (yes, some poor people got into Oxford again).

My ex has very kindly decided without any warning to switch the weekends I have the kids. I can no longer make it if it is still going to be on the 1st weekend of May.

I would not be surprised if she deliberately waited until I had a few things booked up and then layed that one down on the table just to f'k me over a little harder.

Not only can I not make the camping weekend but I can also now not attend the AR. :(

Wow that sucks :(. Not sure what we can do about this. Change the date or just do it without you? I am booked up for most of the rest of May sadly.

haha ok in all seriousness, lets get a date organised, then a list of definite attendees and then we can book. Date Friday/Sat/Sun 30/1/2 May ok ro change it?

Stig
25-03-10, 01:49 PM
Don't make any changes on my account. The dates need to be when the majority can attend. Just hacked off. Oh well.

Stu
25-03-10, 03:01 PM
Bring the kids?

Stig
25-03-10, 03:53 PM
Bring the kids?

Not an option really Stu. If I'm going camping it's for a specific reason which is to unwind, drink plenty, and have no responsibility. Seeing as I have the kids, I'll do something more enjoyable for them than me. There will be other camping trips I have no doubt. So long as the chosen date for those falls on the right weekend, I'll be there instead. :)

FG1
25-03-10, 04:02 PM
I have booked holiday for this weekend. I can understand Si's predicament (having been there myself some years ago) so if it changes can we sort it out asap as I might or might not be able to get the time off work.

sarah
25-03-10, 04:42 PM
Let's stick with the original weekend.

Phil, you'll be home by May Day.

I've booked us in to arrive on Fri 30th April and have said that most people will probably go home on the Sunday but there may be some who stay over until the Monday - so it's flexible. She's fine with this.

Anyone who can fit wellies in their luggage, it might be advisable! Apparently, the field is somewhat damp at the mo so fingers crossed for no rain between now and then.

I may just turn up for a short visit during the day. You'll have to let me know when you lot are going out and about. Failing that, you could always take a ride to Bradford-on-Avon for a nice brew and bacon buttie. The roads to get there are quite nice. :)

We have a big trampoline in the back garden. Will that do?

There is always the Tithe Barn (http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/server/show/nav.16335) to have a look at I guess and maybe a paddle in the River Avon. Other than that. Nope.

I'll try and fit it in around what the rest of out plans are though.
