This was in the Ducati section and when we saw it thought how perfect it was for Mr Chris.
It's got his beloved TL engine, although neutered to 104bhp , it's black, it's loud and it's tatty.

I do think it looks good and those exhausts fit in tight. Swingarm looks spindly, surprisingly, like it's off an ER5 or something.
That is gorgeous! Proper hooligan machine! Drop that castrated motor out and drop in a tuned TLS lump - happy days

Not a bike for him, its for me ;-)
The 104 BHP is because Cagiva downtuned the engine for more torque IIRC, sometimes having a Raptor around the house you occasionally listen to the owner :-)
Thinking of getting rid of the black SV later in the year and finding a tidy Xtra Raptor, theres one on the bay at the moment, but I'm not exactly in the mood for bikes at the mo :-(
Edit....far too tatty for me!!

This is the one I'm looking at, provided the guy had the horns in the garage, then its a good bike. At over four hundred quid a pop, its not good if he didn't! I reckon the price will go up to around 2.5k, I've seen Raptor Chapter members selling theis for around that on the bay, which is unfortunate for such a rare bike.
I like it , then again I like bikes with character :)

Aww don't you like a meaner looking bike Andy, I always thought the nakid one looked ghey, and the other looked like a brute. As for wheelying, no more than any other bike, and they aren't prone to wanting to wheelie just for the sake of it.
mmmm yum yum

Trumpets not really my bag Andy, neither are IL4s.
I'm a twin lover, which when the time comes, will be what I get.

Shhhhh Pete wants one as a toy, as if the ZZR isn't enough of a toy...but then if he got one of those I could play too:D

Swingarm is steel, stronger than it looks.
Cool bike :)

Never seen one with so much rust on the swingarm, or casings, as for the rest, the footpegs are a knightmare anyway, they have paint that flakes off tremendously, not sure if its fluff round the clocks, and the tank is god awful...although some may think its a quirk and purposely done like crackle glaze on an old piece of pottery.
Generally speaking its all pretty cosmetic. Its been used at least.
At least the valve clearances have been done, not sure about tyres, as you have to choose your shoes wisely on a Raptor.

just imagine the lean angles you could get on something like that... would be awsome :)

lol need a bigger house first. Can't be letting him have two bikes without finding a new home big enough for both of mine and the ZZR ;-)

Looking at the ZZR it will be a BIG house
P.S
Valves are easy on TL motor, easier than SV.
If this is my perfect bike that is important, plenty opportunity for playing with it. Hmmm TLR heads, throttle bodies... I bet you could wring 140bhp out of it 8)

Only thing that makes it a PITA is the layout of the engine, lots of EFI b*ll*cks in the way of the rear cylinder.

Just get off the bike before you service it then :p

Thinking about it, I would not pay a premium price for a bike like that, no adjustable suspension, steel cycle parts and I'm not keen on the fit and finish generally.
I'd buy a TL and spend the money saved on getting the suspension to work any day.
dizzyblonde
07-03-10, 06:10 PM
Xtra Raps front suspension is fully adjustable AFAIK, different from standard bike, plus the rear shock is an upgraded one from the standard one they chuck on the others.
Dunno what difference it would make.

Oh I meant the standard raptor/Vrap, they seem more expensive than an equivalent TL or SV1000.
dizzyblonde
07-03-10, 06:14 PM
TBH the bikes in general are getting older, so would probably be needing a suspension upgrade anyway if not already done., just like any other bike of their age.
Most Raptor owners upgrade their shocks, and I think there is an upgrade on the front end internals from an R6 or R1....but not sure about that one, probably wasn't listening when it was talked about.

could go well with YCs new ghey leathers :smt077
Not sure if I feel sick with fury that someone could do that to such a lovely bike, or indeed I actually like it, cause its a wolf in girls clothing:rolleyes:
V raptor sucks big time. A lovely looking bike made ugly. The Raptor on the otherhand. Bloody love them. I wanted one (still do) but being forever broke, still don't own one.

The normal raptor is just a monster wannabe and the TL frame looks loads better, the V rap is weird enough to be interesting.

chris, your wrong :)

Nope.
Best looking one I saw was a TLR engine in an IZAX frame though, that was gorgeous.

Just down the road from me that bike is. I've not seen it about mind. I quite like it, but the paint job needs sorting on a nice bike like that. its too good to be a rat.
