View Full Version : Written off K2 Black Sv650?
Hey everyone,
just putting this up here in case an orger might be interested. So I wrote off my Sv650 last August. Luckily a helpful witness and a very evasive 3rd party made my life and settlement very easy.
Anyway I got the £1350 for my bike some time back. Rider support were great, and found someone who might be willing to buy the bike. The price is £350 for the salvage, and very soon I'm going to get some photos and send them to the guy who is interested, as well upload some onto here.
Nothing is official yet and I'm not screwing the other guy over as he hasn't even seen it. Anyway, just thought I'd give the org a heads up in the matter.
Even now, when I see it standing there I wish I had the time and expertise to sort it out. It was a beaut, with sweet yellow wheels and a micron exahust. Also got a pretty new rear battleaxe tyre before it got written off.
anyways, pics to follow shortly!

Is this from the hitting the back of a beamer accident? You got a payout? Lucky sod
yeeep.
Off duty cop as witness saw the fact none of his brake lights came on. 3rd party's insureres gave it the whole stopping in distance you can see clear, etc. Rider support responded with the no brake lights...etc.
What clinched it was the 3rd parties evasiveness. Not only would he not respond to my people, he wouldn't respond to his own! I'm getting gear paid for as well, plus injury money getting sorted too. Let this be a lesson, you can still go into the back of someone with 3rd party only, and win the claim, lol...but yeah I was lucky.
Ok I will try and get some photos up by tomorrow.

Ok so here's the pics as promised everyone. Sorry the pics are probably lame. Wasn't sure what to be taking. Also I couldn't get good shots of the right side because as you can see the front wheel has been pushed back into the exhaust bit, and wheeling it out would be a nightmare.
Oh and I think the mileage is under 12,000. Could be a tad more or less though, not too sure.

Sad sight:(
new forks yokes, mudguard, maybe wheel....rip the fairing off, and fighter it...it could be back on the road for £500 easy
Really only £500? For that I'd sort it out myself. The left pegs/levers and stuff are pretty much gone too.

Its cryin out for a gsxr front end which is do-able for less than £500 an as lee said, dont worry about a fairing make it naked and save your self a quid or 2.
I mean naaaaaa its a write off! a total waster! I'll give you £350 for it, i'll jus scrap it for parts maybe get my money back if im lucky ;)
nah it's all pants, mind you that micron can may get you a tenner - I'd give you a tenner for that ;-)
Seriously though if you do break it I'd be interested in that as it looks road legal but nice sounding (assuming it's not scratched to hell)

Hi mate, i would be interested in the wheels and the race can.

Appreciate the honest advice everyone. I think I'm going to invest in getting it sorted. It would be a shame to see it go for £350, when apparently I can sort it for a bit more, and have my beloved first bike back again.
Apologies for generating the interest. I remember when I first wrote about my off on here, I put up a list of parts needed and I was getting reasonable quotes as well. The vultures at the garage and the guy who delivered put me off, saying the bike was a state and they'd only give me £150/£200 max, and it was a total write off! That meant the SV ended up sitting lonely for months, and I wasn't optimistic. But now I am again I guess. Thanks

If I was to gsxr front end what would be the main/hardest things I need to find so I can get hunting?

If I was to gsxr front end what would be the main/hardest things I need to find so I can get hunting?Yep, well, the peeps at the garage would tell tou that so they could get their hands on it as cheap as, then either put it right or more likely break it.
Gsxr conversion you will need
forks
top and bottom yokes
steering stem
twf stem bearing
wheel spindle, spacers
wheel
discs
calipers
mudguard
tl1000s or similar clip ons
very do'able for £500. My front end cost me that in total, I could have got away without braided lines and a carbon mudguard and saved myself about £100.
Get huntin :)
