View Full Version : I just filled up my tank...
... And it took 17.4 ltr, which could be classed as running it a tad close to empty on an 18ltr tank lol
It also cost a staggering £19.60! Which isn't good when you struggle to get 100 miles to the tank.
On the bright side though I just rode for the first time since November 2009 and the bike seems to ride perfect since I put it all back together which is a relief, AND NO MORE SITTING IN TRAFFIC FROM TOMORROW waahayy.
It's good to be back on a bike.

Nope, although the fuel pump was ticking (a sign its not actually pumping anything) when I stopped. :)

It is for this reason that I love my 125 so much, even though it is a nasty old banger. It costs about £10 to fill the tank and that lasts me pretty much a month. In a way, it is a shame my 125 is such a banger, I bet he was lovely when he was new and used even less fuel, although when he was new, unleaded was under six pence a litre and Doctors told us smoking was good for us!
Right, where is me pipe and slippers? I feel old now I am talking about the good old days... :D

I'm in the dark myself.
Gladius tank is smaller (i think) than the sv but I've got 130miles before the fuel light comes on.
Only done a trip counter the last couple of refuels.
Not sure is this good, bad or average?:smt017
Costs about £12.00 to fill.
pppfffttt here was me thinking that someone had bought a chieftain tank or sommit.. big let down..

I just filled my car up, £58!
That'll last about 250 miles :(
EEEKKKKK - 58 will 650 miles in my motor if it's on the m-way, maybe 450 to 500 urban. 58 quid an empty to toally full tank
I know, it makes me cry, it will probably burn about a tenners worth of oil in that distance as well.
Still it was free and it's only got to last me till it's warm enough to use the bike.
What car do you have? A bubble car?
What car is it? Just so I know never to ever consider buying one. Is it an old Jag?
It's a Mazda Xedos 6 2.0 V6.
I am sure when it was new it was a lovely car but it's got 150,000 miles on the clock and is past it's best.

Like everything these days Fuel cost is a joke... Bloody Government.
They reckon £1.50 by the end of summer. If that true I will have to seriously reconsider my options.
Maybe a Kawasaki 250 or a 125 or some sort lol. Same fun at slower speed and 60+mpg

F**k the Queen. ****ing ridiculous. My cost of living pay rise ain't coming nowhere near to covering that - if it's true.
We are at £1.169 here at the moment with the price of a barrel of oil at $80. You can expect that to go up to $150 as the economy 'picks up'.
The value of the £ keeps dropping, it will drop even more if we have a hung parliment.
Then there the tax increase in April of nearly 2p.
Its going to start flying up.

Cost of living increase? hah I got a paycut this year =p
I've got 23 litres into a 20 liter tank before...confused the heck out of me!, may be worth testing these pumps accuracy one day with a couple of Jerry cans.
£1,13 here, and nearer £1.20 at some of the london stations on my way in.
Even so if it goes £1.50 a litre It'll be criminal, won't be worth doing my 2nd job anymore due to the fuel cost to income ration meaning I'll get about £3 an hour....It's hardly worth it at the moment...
SURELY they will have to cut tax down to something more sensible if it goes that high?...oh right...who am I kidding.

Used to get through about 14 litres doing approx 100 miles however hard or soft I rode...I don't own a Firestorm any more!

Me too, 12.5% paycut to be precise, it was across the board alledgedly.

The only upside to the 600rr is you can get good economy, but you have to be really boring to achieve it. I once got over 100miles to half a tank on it going up to scarborough to watch some racing at olivers mount. That was pretty much 65 - 70 the whole way behind my GF's dad again though.

I can get nearly 60 mpg (although about 45 is more realistic) out of the VFR, I'll just be very bored doing it. Normally I'll get about 30 mpg.

I just filled my car up, £58!
That'll last about 250 miles :(I filled up the Volvo a couple of weeks ago, I bottled it at £70! That was standard UL at 112ppl If i get 300-350 miles from that i'll be happy
Just be glad you don't have to fill one of these up. 386 litre tank!!! That's £440 @ 1.14 a litre

Back to the bike, when I first got it in 2008 I could only fit £12 in the tank. Now it's more like £17

If the petrol price goes that high this year, im just gonna flip out :smt092
We need to take action, the barrell of oil price doesnt reflect pump prices when it goes down only up.
Makes my blood boil, just remember on polling day, labour have spent all your money, now wanna tax the crap out of us to recover some back.
We need to do what they did in 2000, petrol price were stable for something like 18 months after with no increase at the budget or anything.

What we gonna do, riot? I can't afford to make any molotovs...
Sooner or later people will have to get jobs within walking distance of their house... Or we will have to riot. I prefer the second option.
I would go to the Riot but I can't afford the petrol to drive there.

yeah, wouldn't want a riot within walking distance from your house!!

LOL, if my street got trashed I don't think anyone would notice the difference.

My gauge was flashing, but as I put about a litre short of max, filling it at 194 miles on the Zed, just bopping back and forwards on the A3 isnt too bad :)
What we gonna do, riot? I can't afford to make any molotovs...Semtex is actully cheaper than a gallon of UL!

And it's now actually cheaper to create a nuclear holocaust than fill up with premium.
