Its my birthday tomorrow (shameless Plug maybe) and the cakes in the office caused th inevitable how old are you question..

To which my response is 25 yrs young, now among the usual responses of "im old enough to be your mother etc" the most common has bee ... "mmm 25 and married "

Is it that odd to be 25 and married?

Hey..... I'm 23 and married!

24 next birthday (first as a Mrs to!) :D

I think times have just changed and not many early twenty year olds are married, compaired to my parents who also got married at 23 where told they were old getting married!

I'm only 19 so I can't really comment but I don't think so.

I read somewhere recently that women in the north generally have kids at around 25, whereas women in the south have kids around 10 years later. I guess it's the same for marriage, then.

My parents were married before they turned 25 I think. I think they were 23 and 22

I am 26 and would like to be married lol.

There is alot of people under 25 that have kids... but are not married. I find that considerably stranger.

I married the first and only Mrs Nij when I was 20....now that I'm so old I might as well be dead (according to my kids) I think we maybe should have delayed gettin wed for a bit longer. Have to say though, we will be celebrating our silver anniversary in july and it's been the best 25 years of my life

I suppose in this day and age, a lot of young people don't get married anymore. I suppose they concentrate on uni, work and getting pishhed as a higher concern. Plus its a very expensive thing to do for some.

I have never been married, I had my first child at 24 and I'm 33 with my second on the way. My parents had me when my mum was 23 too and I am the eldest. Can't remember when they got married!
I am engaged, but we're in no hurry to marry. Pegs been and done that one already.

I married at 29.

I don't think 25 is young to be married. Regardless of age, getting married is about finding someone you want to make that commitment with.

I think everyone get married when they feel like it but I also suppose that not many are getting married now
(i've been engaged 5 years and keep spending the money saved on motorbikes!!)

very well put KJ.

I dont believe in marriage as a concept myself but i do believe in spending the rest of my life with someone. I just dont need a bit of paper and a ring to prove it to the world and their friends. Nor spend a fortune for one day to remember it by.

i honestly dont see the big deal with weddings etc its as pointless as valentines day to me, just another gimmick around which and entire industry has formed in order to take money off you.

Happy Birthday - present in the post.

Naah, I got married at 25 in July 2005 and never looked back. :smt060
We'd been together for longer (sept 1998 and lived in the same gaff a while before I proposed.
Now got a boy (3 last Jan) and enjoying every minute.
Well almost every minute - I'm only human.
Anyone who says they 'never argue' are only kidding themselves and as much as I love my boy he can be a little **** when he wants.

I know loads of couples who got married sooner & loads who have never got married at all but have kids, mortgage etc.

Personally, I don't worry about what is 'normal' anymore.
After all, normal is quite often overrated and who's to say what's normal anyway.:smt017
Gimmie odd or lumpy over perfectly formed any day.

My wife and I have been married for 2.5yrs. She turns 25 in May.

We met 5 years ago this March 17th when she was just 19 (I swear I thought she was older!). St. Paddy's - who says lasting relationships don't blossom from drunken encounters! Makes it very easy to remember that anniversary as well :)

We were married in Canada, and then again almost exactly a year later here in England. Our relationship has survived the usual bumps in the road, along with life in 2 countries, much of it apart. We even had to seperate for a few months right after getting married, while she came back here to find us a home and I waited for my first visa to be processed.

i am engaged and we plan to get married in 2014 that will make me 25 years old.
i would say its around the right age if you plan to have kids before you in your 30's :)

Me and Izi want to be married as soon as possible (I'm 20, she's 19), but only after we've got a house together. Although commitment means everything to us, we don't think it wise to spend on a wedding when getting our first house is far more important.

most my friends thaught i was getting married too early but we have just celebrated our 3rd wedding anniversary love him to bits although can be a royal pain in the *rse at times
age has no bearing on when you gett married its to whom you get married and if it feel right.

Married at 20, divorced at 31. Grew up and grew apart. It works for some and not for others. I don't think its age that matters.

I was married at 25 too and think it was a perfectly reasonable time. Me and the Mrs don't look that old (Mrs still gets ID'd at the age of 28) and when we say we've been married for three years and tell people our age they're generally quite surprised.

I suppose it's better that way round than being 30-odd and people thinking you're 40!

I dont think its odd.

Me & Matt are engaged (im 24, hes 23) and we hope to be married by the time we're 26. However we're foucusing our money and efforts on getting a propety first because thats more important.

I proposed to a girl at 21, she was 18, said yes then no and it fell apart.

Had afew relationships after that but at 27, 28 this yr i'm still not engaged or anything.

My advice if it feels right go for it! You can only live and learn!! I'd like to be married but i dont see it happening before i'm 30!
