Just out of curiosity..
How do you secure your bike?
Break lock?
Garaged?
Chained down?
Alarm and Imob?
dont have to specify what you do if you dont want to alert "Twonks" but just put something like if i did have a bike i would ....
if i had a bike i would have it locked away in alarmed garage then chained down to garage floor with a cover of CCTV as it would be my pride and joy...

it would take a long time to get my bike out of my kitchen, past my dog.
I know of a man... who build a steel box construcion which he kept his pride and joy in which was at the back of his garage which was alamed althought it took way to long to get his bike out when he wanted to play bt he knew it wernt going no where

Hmmm! I aint giving such details to a first time poster!
Needless to say you may have difficulty in finding, let alone stealing, without the fuzz on yer case, my bicycle.

In the garage, which I lock if I remember to (things are slightly different over here)
just garage/alarm + 10 stone+ German Shepard and cars in front of garage
Reminds me of when the Escort Cosworth came out. Local stealer had one pinched, alarmed and immobilised, from a garage with a van, alarmed and immobilised, parked across the door.

Yup oh well. Strangely makes me not go over the top these days, like you say, if someone really wants it then it's gone.

If I can be ar*ed, chain, cover. Otherwise not. Usually cover it, but the chain is a PITA and has lived in my shed for a fortnight. I'm lucky to live a long way from any major conurbations, so only the more dedicated and skilful tea-leaves are going to bother. And I can't afford that sort of security. Fully-comp though so I get most of my money back if they do!

So how did they get it?
I'm guessing it wasn't an Almax chain?

Garaged with ccars parked accross the garage, but my keys are in it all of the time.
Alarm and imobalised
If some one wants it unfortuantly, they'll still have it, no matter what security you use

I have awesome neighbors. If anyone took the time to take the bike, I'm betting they'd have their skulls bashed in by Bernard and Terri on my left, Derek and Amanda on my right, and Marion and Paddy across the street.
Moral: get to know your neighbors, and look after yourselves.

My bike is kept in the garage but the keys are in the ignition.
I know that even though its in a garage you shouldn't keep the keys with it, but I'm not that bothered about it going wondering owing to the fact the engine is in a number of boxes next to my workbench.

As Im round the corner from you Tom you should understand why I built a blockwork and stone garage, complete with solid wooden doors, 5barrel lock and a y anchor into the 225mm thick concrete base.
Took me 4 months to build it but as yet, no-ones got in there (although Im sure someone tried while I was on holiday, due to the markings on the door).

" I know of a bloke who built a steel box construction, which he kept his pride and joy in. The box was at the back of his garage which was alarmed. It did take a lot of time and effort to get his bike out when he wanted to play but atleast he knew there was no chance of any scum pinching it"
How's that?
Now, was it actually that difficult to make out what the poster meant or were you just trying to be clever?....funny perhaps? :D
Re question asked, nothing. I just roll the dice and see what happens ...... :o :p

My labrador is soft as sh1te, but he makes an angry growling bark you wouldn't mess with from the other side of a door or garden gate. The angrier, louder and more aggressive he gets, the bigger the fuss and quantity of biscuits I give him afterwards.

I secure mine by leaving them in multiple pieces, normally without wheels and batteries. :)

Inside an alarmed lockup, accessed via a 1 hour firedoor with 3 5 lever mortice locks.
2 Ground anchors a disc lock on each bike and locked together too.
