Slow (auto) choke.

Recently switched from a pointy SVS, to an ER6 .... but would appreciate some general help if poss...

The auto choke on my bike seems really slow to react .. when I start the bike, unless I blip (or hold) the revs manually for a little while it'll stall (ie. auto-choke not kicking on) .... an then when the auto-choke does kick on, it seems to be on for too long, and only turns off if I blip the throttle .... ie. if i leave the bike idling, the auto choke won't take the revs down until I blip it ....

How does the auto choke work ... what can I do to improve it ??

I've got some new spark plugs (iridiums) to fit, to see if it helps ... but whatelse can it be ??

There's no 'choke' as such, having fuel injection it works rather differently.

I though its just an electricly actuated opening of the throttle bodies, but there being an aditional actuator to open the primary butterfly that is normaly controled by the throttle, that and also diffrent fueling.

I suspect that Ricardo's on the right lines.
There isn't a 'choke', the injectors will provide the fuelling required, and commonly there is a servo that opens the throttle ever-so-slightly to provide the necessary fast idle speed.
Diagnosis? Don't know that bike specifically but I'd check the usual service items first and make sure that the servo, if any, is connected and working.
