I looked at mine and realised that I wake up every night between 1 and 2.

Friday nights, it looks like I have died in my sleep I'm that tired!

Its well worth 59p :D

Myst was originally a Mac game, but was ported to PC and various consoles. I'd never played it before I got it on the iPhone.

Hopelessly addicted to "Zombie Farm".

"Bank Run" is satisfying for a few minutes at a time.

"Face Goo" still amuses and impresses.

Have just bought one for daughter's birthday tomorrrow. What a palaver.

Went into the Three shop (she's on Three at the moment) and said 'I want an iPhone.' The idiot sales bloke said 'Why? - this [pointing to a HTC Desire] is much better.' What a twit. I told him that branding is everything and he plainly didn't have a 12 year old daughter. Anyway turns out you can't get an iPhone on Three.

Next stop, Carphone Warehouse, another idiot. We went through all the permutations and I'd settled that I wanted a 3Gs32Mb only to for the bloke to tell me 'oh we haven't got any in stock, you could get one at Wolverhampton though' - er yes I really want a 80 mile round trip drive....

So on to the Orange shop, where they were very helpful and all done and dusted. Looks a nice bit of kit:D

Also good for people who have friends of Eastern European extraction!

Bubblewrap is all the entertainment I need, but I fine the Fire/Shift invaluable for working out Mike's whereabouts.

I also like the Egg timer app. Yes, I do already know how to boil eggs, but it's fun watching the eggcam.

no you dont, you can use apps from other locations other than the app store in addition. Not all apps have a cost and many are very cheap (59p or so).

Personally I wouldnt bother jailbreaking unless you have a particular need to do so, its a personal preference thing I guess

Not an app, but if you press and hold in the button on the top right of the phone that does the job, it also turns it on. ;)

at the moment its all down to the apps available and currently nothing comes close to the app store. I'm lucky enough to get to test this kit often before it hits the high street as part of my job, today I would still choose the iPhone over all the others I've used. The latest HTC devices are pretty nice but currently lack the choice of apps although that will improve over time.

The iPhone is a very big act to follow.

iv not had a problem in the past 2 years, its easy to format if anything goes wrong,
most of the apps come from release groups anyway.

thats fair enough, I also know a number of people that have done the same. It does bring some risks along with it but admitedly they are fairly low if you know what you are doing.

I do know what I'm doing but just choose not to jailbreak, I personally find that the iPhone experience in its standard form is very good anyway.

Plus, I also believe that the software developers who write Apps, deserve to be paid!

Just because something can be be free, doesn't mean it should. :)

Yeah, I was thinking that too. It is technically theft.

Just to add, I'm no angel myself. I've happily used copy software before but these days I always follow up and buy the ones that I find valuable

Which is bang on why I wanted to advice on the ones I should get. I dont mind spending a few quid to make my mobile more usefull but I dont wanna be buying ones which waste my money and may make me think twice before buying another.

so what these links will tell me how to jailbreak it and then also provide the apps links to the apps that I can download mostly for free.

hindle8907
18-05-10, 09:58 AM
I will just link you to the guides yeah.
if you search goggle you will find it yourself

basically you jailbreak your phone **At your own Risk**
then you install sources through cydia<which you get when you jailbreak>EG: Installous/app cake are sources that put apps on your home screen and there just like alternative app stores, use the apple store to find what you want and then search for it on installous/app cake and download for free.
when you jailbreak you can also do things like,
install themes, change your keypad colours, change message tones, dialler screens , put apps into folders on your home screen, chance all the system sounds and the lock screen. all sorts of customization .
it does really make the phone more fun i use it more for the customization than the apps tbh
