Just thought I'd have a look and see when my MOT was due and started looking back through the MOT certificates, my 99 curvy under it's previous owners has done just 2500 miles in the last seven years! That's 357 miles a year, that's just under a mile a day average. Surely this is not normal? is it :smt017

Just had to look again to see how many owners it's had since new, just 3, so the first owner used it, the last two didn't, well not much.

It's possible.

I know of someone who owns(onwed from new) the first model of the R1, which has just over 10,000 miles on it.

ETA: That's probably why the tank rusted lol

I took my sister's Mini Cooper S for a thrash this afternoon, it's an 03 plate and has just 14,000 miles on it and has never been above 60mph... til today.

They do get a shift on, don't they?

Yer probably was Ben, I have a yellow one on again as of today but I'm keeping a tight hold on the red one as well, these things are hard to find :-)

I was actually winderign if I had a PM to send to you and decided "nah, don't think so" . Got PM bud.

I've just had not the best of last few days so it's a bit chaotic.

I know Roughly why it is so will pop in in post Monday. We'd sort out minor details at a later point :D . I might have a gasket somewhere to go with it too....keep your fingers cosed. The Gaskets are cheap anyway but hopefully, I'd find one

Cheers

My mate has one, I love the sound of the supercharger, guzzles fuel though.

A friend has just bought an M reg Fiesta with 16k on the clock, crazy.

There is always a small chance that the speedo is not the original, or that a previous owner was a courier and used two speedos (it does/did used to happen), but sadly some owners don't use their bikes for one reason or another.

Mines a 54 plate, I got all the history with it and it had 5k on the clock.
The guy had been badly stabbed and couldn't ride but didn't want to get rid of the bike either.
Kept in the garage, under covers on a charger.

I didn't have the heart to haggle with him over the price.

My 57 plate is on almost 21,000miles now, dread to think whats its going to be up to after summer......

Pegs bike was new to him (08 plate) with 800 miles on the clock in May last year.

Its now got something like 24000 on it.........thats flippin whoppin!!

My SVs have something like 34000 on the black one, which I've put about 7000 on in three years and 23000 on yellow one(engine has slightly more). The yellow one hardly ran for those three years, but more so last year. Gave the other one a rest.

When I bought my 600rr it had 0 miles on the clock.

It was 2 years old at this point and had sat in the window of a shop all that time awaiting its new owner who had paid a deposit on it but never turned up to finish the deal.

Dealer didnt know what to do with so kept. Then went through the legal processes of contacting the customer etc, then sold it to me.

Coming upto 8k on the clock now though.

My SV when we got it had 560 miles on it and was 3 years old.

We sold it with just under 3000 miles on it 5 months later!

When I got my VFR it had 200 miles on it, it was 14 months old. I had done 60 of the 200 miles test riding it! The dealer put it on demo to meet some sales quota, scrubbed in the tyres and then it barely moved for a year. Since June 2007 it's done a further 24000 - I didn't get out much last year.

It's amazing how much it affects resale value. My pointy just went over 31k and even though I had a full service (valve checks etc) the dealer I went to to talk about part exing it didn't really want to know.. Seems a real shame, although I know I paid too much for it when I bought it I wasn't expecting that much depreciation.
