Hi, I've got a K6 Naked with full Akrapovic system and a PCIII Powercommander fitted. (not sure on the air filter)..

I've had the bike rested up for about 12 weeks - and through this time i've been starting it up and running it for 10 mins in the garage (not actually riding it)

taking it for a ride all seemed good - put a tank full of high octane fuel in today and the bike was nicely warmed up.. so I started riding fast and with high revs but then when the revs got down to below 4k or so they would lower right down to 0k and the bike would stall.

On starting the bike it needed some revs on the throttle to get it going and would then try and stall (sounded really rough) unless I revved it above 4-6k.

I managed to get home by revving high through town at low speeds but at times it cut out and stalled if I falied to keep her at high revs.

I've read on here about TPS, fuel with water in due to storage, coils, spark plugs, HT leads and idle speed among others.. So I checked the air filter (no visable probs) and the plugs (were a bit brown/black so replaced them with some irridium ones

...and adjusted the idle revs to be around 1400. (any lower (even 1200 or 1300) it seems to tick over for say 10 or 20 secs (this changes each time) and then it suddenly drops for a split second down to around 1000, nearly stalls (very nearly) but then goes back up to normal. - putting on 1400 seems to stop this random dropping and nearly stalling.

So I took the bike out again today.. was fine to start with whilst warming the bike up, even going through town on low revs.. then when i hit the open road and went fast was all good.. but on slowing down in town again and needing to go into 1st/2nd gear with low revs (under 5k) the revs dropped to around 1000 then further and stalled again. (and needed me to rev it to start) - and then road very rough again all the way home whilst I try to stop here dying :(

I've read I can change the TPS and the powercommander open & closed throttle positions, try putting wynns dry fuel in the petrol tank among other things, but don't really know what to try. Has anyone got any suggestions?

there's no water in the sparkplugs and it hasn't been out in the rain, but it was stored in the garage for a while. - oh and i also changed the oil and oil filter whilst in storage.. - it also seems to start ok after it has been resting for a while.

thanks in advance, and apologies if this has been asked before!

just gone out to the garage again and started her up fine first time but noticed that the revs kept going low - The Idle screw needed adjusting again ?!?!?

I've put it back up to 1400 and it's running smooth so far, i had a ride to halfords going through town slow (noticing the revs didn't go below the set 1400) and also at fast speed and revs.. I bought some of that dry fuel stuff and put a little in and road back without any problems also..

I think it may have been problem with the fuel which was old and the idle speed (which needed doing twice for some reason) -and seems to be ok so far.. If anything changes i'll post the results up here.

Thanks again :)

get the powercommander checked. It controls the fueling the spark everything. Take out what has been added on first then work out the problem, if there is one, after that

thanks, that's a good idea. I've opened up the map and as far as i can tell the open/closed throttle settings are ok and it has this in the notes :

06 SV650
A/VIC EX
MOD BAFFLE
K&N

i guess the a/vic ex means my Akrapovic exhaust system
the k&n bit the air filter (i will make sure the filter is k&n)

i'm not sure what "Mod Baffle" means though? Would it mean the exhaust baffle is removed or in place?
removed i'm hoping :D
