OK, doing another set of calipers at the mo. (even though I'm still not happy with the first set & a quarter I was doing)
The calipers are 3 years & 10K miles old so don't need new seals but now that everything's cleaned I'm sure a wise man once told me to put the seals in a pot of boiling water to regain their perfect shape.
Now I can't remember if I was hallucinating & I was never told that? nor who told me - as in whether I should believe it or not. So what do you think? :D

If they aren't distorted don't bother.

I do it sometimes as last ditch effort before reaching for credit card.

That makes a lot of sense. I just thought it might sort out any distortion that I may not have noticed.

If you don't notice it, it probably isn't worth noticing.

Just make sure to coat them in rubber grease on reassembly, this will avoid them seizing to the pistons and causing the distortion in first place.
