My current MP3 player (zen stone) has died :-(

So, I'm planning on replacing it with an ipod shuffle.

My question is:

What can I use instead of itunes? I REALLY don't want itunes.

You on Windows? There's plenty of stuff out there that can sync. A guy in work asked a similar question and I suggested this for him:

http://www.mgtek.com/dopisp/

But there could be plenty of other things out there, that's just the first one I found.

Itunes is great. Yes it takes a bit of getting used to but i find it much more pleaseing than WMP and the like. The new shuffle is horrible and i like apple stuff.

Why not look at the Sandisk doobury or Philips do a tiny MP3

Yeah I had a Nano for my birthday and couldn't believe how tiny it was! Alas not enough capacity for my music so took it back to swap for a Classic but still, amazing little things.

iTunes is a bit annoying on Windows but not annoying enough to put me off. Except I use my Macs almost exclusively anyway.

Or go for one of these - I have been using Cowon media players for a few years now and find them to be brilliant in quality and the store the link goes to are really good to deal with.

Then its just a case of drag and drop, no iTunes required...

Looks pretty good - went the sandisc sansa route myself - wanted more space. Titchy. Hasn't broken yet. Headphones fine but not the loudest plugged into the (active) speakers.

how come you really dont want to use itunes? i find it pretty simple to use, all of my music is burned from cd into itunes then put over onto my ipod. very simple process. i dont see why theres so much hate out there for itunes?

i only need it for when i'm running so being tiny and having a clip to attach it to clothes (instead of having to buy something to attach it to me with) is a real plus and is having the controls on the headphone wire.

i don't need loadsa memory 1gb (as my current, broken device has) is more than enough.

I have a shuffle. I just use itunes to sync all my mp3 files on it. I wish I could find it after my house move though.

It is entirely possible for something to be too small. That's like Amy's tiny cell phone in Futurama.
