As some of you may know i work for Xerox and i use a lot of paper. However, there is something quite serious afoot. In finland, the dockworkers and truck drivers are on stirke and have been for over 2 weeks. As a majority of UK paper is sourced from Finland and the fact that 2 of the 3 mills in Finland are currentlyc losed as they have no raw material, means that paper will be in short supply very soon unless the situation improves. It also means that paper prices will rocket over the next few weeks, somehwere int he region of 25% is estimated.

So, if you work with paper, stock up the best you can.

For those who dont use paper in bulk, as you were.

IIRC Mr D, your products use cardboard? If so this will be affected as well.

We've been managing stocks for a few weeks now, and swapping onto Canadian sourced paper... we get through a fair bit making paperback books ;)

I'll tell the people in the office who keep printing out journal papers then deciding they don't actualy want to read them.

barrel is about $80, prices at the pump would have you think it was twice that amount

I'll get twice as much hassle for using the printer in college then - the library already demands written proof of permission to print and that was started way before the strikes.

Do you reckon I could tipp-ex out an entire sheet of A4 then print again on it?

Plenty of trees and paper mills here. ;)
(huge mill less than an hour away)

And petrol prices are on the rise again! :D
Life is good!

I'll get my coat....
