Cant be worse than when I did it in front of the whole SELKENT mob and had to be rescued as I was sitting on Jambo's crashbung, trying to keep my bike from putting full weight onto his and dropping both...

Still I can laugh now - everyone else just laughed then...

Disk locks - no problem. It's cucumber I hate.

The world contains two types of people. Those who like cucumber and those who can taste it. Bleagh... :smt078

As previous post. Luminous curly cord to brake lever.

I don't like cucumber or coconut

That brake lever has got the droop.

Just get a bright orange curly thingy to remind you the lock is there. Round here numpties think those are linked to an alarm!

I don't like beetroot.

Oops. Still, could have been worse. A friend of mine jumped on his bike and thought it would be a great idea to wheelie away. Wasn't until he landed the front wheel some 20 feet further down the road the accident happened. I can tell you, the damage was substancially more than what I can see in that photo. :)

Sarah, been there done that. Hence the fact i dont put any kind of lock on my bike. I just sprayed it horrible colours, now no one will go near it

lol. No not me or my twin. I never use them. As far as I am concerned, if they can get past the steering lock, the disc lock is not going to stop them. I think they are a stupid invention. :)

Could be worse...I've actually tried to take off with a whacking great chain still attached to the rear wheel...took me a freaking AGE to un-wedge that from round the wheel..luckily no damage but I felt a right plonger.

Saw a guy do that on a scooter in London. Was unbelievably funny in hind sight (sorry probably wasn't that pleasent for you or him). The worrying thing was that he did it whilst jumping the curb into a 3 lane road. He was very lucky not to get run over.

No need to be sorry, I was on my own drive so no harm there and it was funny (my missus of the time certainly thought it was funny) albeit it galling at the same time.

The chain wedged between the Brake Disk and the wheel hub and took a fair bit of convincing to get it out again >_<.

One of the directors where I worked in Soho had chained his scooter to a post and did that. Damage to his bike and even funnier Westminster council billed him for the damage to the post! Now normally I would have sympathised but since the guy concerned was a complete k**b for once I was on the side of the Council.

I've only ever done it once and luckily it was on a 190,000 mile old 250 Honda rat-bike. I think the new scratches enhanced the overall look somewhat. I had to gaffer tape the indicator lens back on and it stayed like that for the next two years

Totally agree with the not locking the bike up, but I went another route - I bought a bike so ugly that no-one will go near it for fear of catching some nasty disease.
