ok I'm getting fecked off now....can Alpinestar hero invent a patch or something to stop the urge to go out to play.
I've sorn'd one bike, t'other easily fixed with a new reg rec. I could get on the back of Peg..but obviously morally it is wrong:smt018.

PLLLLLEEEEAAASE, I'm banging my head on the brick wall, and rattling my tin cup on the iron bars of the house...please I'm feeling so miserable, I miss my bikes, it hurts:cry:

Five weeks is a drop int ocean. Its been four months already!

And it is that hard when its the only thing you have a license for, and you've never gone more than three weeks :-(

:(

My wife crashed her bike at the end of Aug (and then found out she was pregnant 2 days later :pale: ),
http://www.fastdruid.co.uk/albums/NC35no1/thumbs/640x480NC35Damage1.jpg
So she's at least not had a bike to ride (although I've got pretty much all the bits to sort it now) and its been a crap winter so she's not really wanted to. Now its got to the point where even if she wanted to she won't fit!

I do know of a woman who rode at 8 months (to get an MOT as she said she figured it would be easier than after the birth), actually here we go:

Feeling like a squid I tootled up to the petrol station, belly touches
the tank which feels very weird. Fill up and decide to head to
Sherburn for a cuppa by the nadgery back roads to free things up.
A couple of miles down the road I decided this was a really bad plan,
bouncing babies once they're born may be great but in utero it is not
and I didn't dare using the front brakes much at all for fear of
smashing it into the tank. The thought of an emergency stop didn't
bear thinking about and holding on with my knees / locking my arms was
not possible for any protracted period.

Turned around and went home, did about 10 miles in all. Rode like a
complete wuss the entire way and am now feeling rather silly for even
having tried.

Indeed FD, I don't feel comfortable going off with a baby in here. We may only be in the early stages, but the principal is all the same no matter what stage.

I just can't turn the mojo off. I cried and had a bit of a tantrum this morning at Pete. :-(

If only my bikes were a bit broken like your wifes, maybe it would turn off a bit.

Hey Dizzy,

I know that it is hard when you want to ride, but can't. I am still to return to my mountain bike properly after some major surgery in 2006.

You will get through. Venting frustration on loved ones may get it out of your system, but there may be better ways.

Are there other things you can do, ride or drive? Learning to drive is not fun, but may be of use to you if you are able. Otherwise, what about a cheap Quad from E-Bay? If it is just around town, maybe that will give you the mobility you desire with out the discomfort and difficulty of a bike?

In truth though, you most likely just need to vent some more and then remember that your baby will be the most beautiful and adorable baby ever and all of the waiting and being careful was worth it. Good luck and drop me a line if you want to chat, rant or make mean comments about silly car drivers.
Hugs

Dizz, the answer is, as they say, SIMPLES !!

Buy yourself some sort of Italian 'exotica' - it will be off the road needing repair most of the time & even when it is running you'll be so scared that it might break again you won't want to ride it anyway :D

Thanks Jayne.X
Quads are more dangerous in my eyes, but learning to drive is going to be inevitable. Theres a V6 Freelander parked on the drive with my name on it, but its so big it puts me off!
Pete keeps offering to take me, but I haven't gelled with driving the last couple of times I've paid to learn....had about 20 lessons before I gave it up as a bad joke:smt091

I'm already a very good passenger driver, I am the bully that shouts to move out of the way already :smt080

Funny you should mention that, I will be selling my black SV later in the year.
I put to anyone here, that if they see an Xtra V Raptor for sale to let me know, dealers or otherwise....its what will be replacing the sold SV....only thing is they are the most reliable 'Italian Exotica' going, might be something to do with that TL1000s engine:cool:

It may be of scant consolation but when you first get back on a bike you will absolutely love it to bits. The buzz after an enforced break is fantastic, and thereafter you will cherish every ride. You'll never take it for granted again.

I got a Playstation and did virtual riding... it helped.

By the way, I had a great blast today :smt016

Ahhh Dizz you need a hobby, just to temporarily take your mind off the bikes for a while.

Not sure what to suggest however, perhaps knitting baby bootees (to keep your hands busy) while sat astride that beanbag (to mimic the bike's riding position) with the hairdryer on full blast at your face (to give the feel of wind resistance) of course in full biking gear...just a suggestion :-D

I can come and slash your tyres? Or come and nick your bikes and put them in my garage?

I'm seriously thinking of SORNing mine in May when the MOT is due. In part as a protest to the other half who never stops bleeding my F****** ears whenever I spend something on the M'bike/kit etc. Fed up of the grief. Quite happy to get the bus - the stop is five yards from my front door. Ideal.

I'll update in May...if I've got any ears left...:smt091

Unlucky m8, my misses has her things and I have mine so I never get a whimper about spending the odd bit of coin on the bike. Mind you she may have an eye on my life insurance lol ;-)

Ohhhh I'll be champing at the bit to get out, but I need me nads(if I had them) clamping now, its torturous.:smt091 I don't take riding for granted now, already having one child and carefully co ordinating ride time, you never do.

Well I really am looking for a Xtra VRap, but if I don't get one, a nice purple one just might persuade me to go nakid;)

Lol, I love the description:D but I might whine like an old granny but I ain't bloody knitting boots:smt016
