Just had a message from a good friend of mine about the Weston Bike nights.

Hi Jayne, yes I will be out doing bike night and it starts up again on the 6th of May

If any of you are interested they occur on Thursday evenings through out the summer months and will cost you a pound. The money raised will go to the Royal British Legion.

Carol and I will be down every now and again, so if you see us, come and say hello. :D

Possibly rain showers tonight, but we are planning on being there anyway. If any one else pops by, look out for the wife and I on Sylvie, our silver pointy.

In case you are wondering, I will be pillion, Carol does not want to look like a pansy on my rather sorry looking CG125! Although, I long ago accepted that I am 100% uncool, so I may ride the CG down there and continue my reputation!

Anyway, definately one Silver pointy with us and maybe a splattered, dirty, smokey, smelly and ratty CG too.

Come and say hello.

:D

At it's peak there can be about a 1000 people turn out, but that is usually high summer when the really shiny sports bikes come out to play.

It costs one pound per bike, with the money going to the Royal British Legion. It is usually a lot of fun and there are bikers of every type down there, from patch clubs to Harley riding Bank managers and every one in between. If anyone is interested in coming along, but wants a friendly face, find some one else! Only joking, give me a shout and say hello to the wife and me. :D

Hey folks, first bike night of 2010 was pretty cool, although I think Nemesis and his friends may wish he had not come down.

Anyway, see you again next time dear friends. Photos to follow soon when Carol puts them up.

I hope to be there this week. What sort of time does it all kick-off?

Jayneflakes
10-05-10, 10:10 PM
People start rolling up at about six pm on the Sea Front and parking up. There are usually a couple of places to get fast food and a coffee/Tea so you don't have to worry if you have not eaten. If you see Carol and I, come and say hello and laugh at me riding my Honda CG125 still! :D

Thanks for the offer jayne. I'll probably won't make it down to be honest. From a working point of view, anything I do down there would benefit more local HG stores. And from a personal point of view, tis a bit far for me to pop over. lol

Cheers anyway x

It was nice to meet you Dan, if you do not fancy a long ride back next time, we have a sofa you can sleep on and then you can ride back in the morning.

It was a fun night last night, if a bit quiet due to rain. We bumped into Metalhead 19 and Widepants and had a bit of a chat, while cruising bikes. I think Carol is starting to like meeting Orgers even more than I am. Maybe one day I can persuade her to buy an SV of her own! For more of a write up, have a look at our blog. :-)

Nemesis, take it easy next time you come, especially if you ride down with that mad cousin of yours! Look forwards to seeing you chaps again.

Was great to meet you Jayne, Carol and Widepants. Was a good trip there and back, took barely hr and 20 mins to get back. The pics from last night are already up. Jayne, you and Carol are on pages 16 and 24. WP and i are on P6.

Carol made a video. Tis of last nights little wander along the sea front and it may contain traces of motorcycles and hints of Metalhead and Widepants.

Carol's major hobby (apart from the music making) is playing with her cameras, she loves making films and taking photos. Hope that your Brother liked having his bike on film. :smt065

She likes to fit a camera onto our SV when we go out on trips, so if anyone ever goes for a ride with us, make sure that you look your best!

Don't worry, she tends not to want to put our silly stuff on line, she does not want her Mum to find out that she she speeds occasionally! :smt044

Mind you, you she recorded my first ride on the SV and luckily I was just out of frame when I dropped it, had that been in there, I think you would have seen the footage! :rabbit:

Hey folks, another great night on Weston Sea Front and it was a real pleasure to meet such a lovely bunch of people. Extra smiles to Grunty Giggles for her huge hug when she found Carol and I. Also for having a beautiful bike that has a real soul. It got commented on as she pulled away from Scallies, when one of the locals said it was nice to hear a good bike sounding like a real bike.

It sounds like you all had a pretty awesome ride, sorry I missed it.

I was a little less shy this time meeting a group of Orgers and thought that all of you that I met tonight were really lovely.

Thank you all for a lovely night, especially after Carol abandoned me!

Hehe, that put a smile on my face Jayne.....but unfortunately it's just due to a hole developing in the exhaust system somewhere during the ride...lol.

It was lovely to meet you too and Carol xxx

Hi All,

just in case any of you are planning on hitting Weston Sea front tonight, there is a chance that Carol and I will be down there again. It all depends on how tired we are this evening after a particularly hard week and then tomorrow we have to go to Taunton very early for Carol's speed workshop.

If any of you do come, feel free to give us a call and say hello. If we do turn up, we will both be on Sylvie SV tonight, Henry the Honda is poorly at the moment and I am too tired to take off the carb to clean it out. Right off to clean the dead flies off of Sylvie and maybe give her another coat of wax... I love my Sylvie, she is so pretty. :D

Think ill be there this week, not been down there since last year, hows the pier rebuild going.

Jayneflakes
01-06-10, 10:41 PM
The Pier should be open soon, with in the next few weeks.

Not sure if Carol and I will be there this Thursday, I have a late Dentist appointment to have a big job done. Knowing how phobic I am, I may well be sedated and in no fit state afterwards. :(

Jayneflakes
24-06-10, 12:13 PM
Hey folks, Carol and I are planning to head down there again this evening probably after seven, once she is home from work. After that we may pop over to Scally's for the Hog Roast (although a pigs hairy face just does not look like food to me! :smt017 ) and a swift pint. :D

Not taking the Honda tonight, fed up with the knackered gear box making me look like a twonk, so any of you that do turn up have to laugh at me being relegated to the pillion seat again.

If any one does come down, be careful on the approach to Weston itself. We have been hearing of more Police out than usual on a Thursday night to catch naughty fast bikes. :(

squirrel_hunter
24-06-10, 12:47 PM
By the time we normally get there everybody's already packing up so I'd imagine the Police would be as well. Besides they only like us in Chippenham...

Can't make it tonight, though that hog roast sounds mighty tempting. I have a pint with my name on it up here.

Jayneflakes
25-06-10, 08:18 AM
Last night was pretty cool and not just because we bumped into Widepants (who looked as dashing as always). :D

I actually got to ride my SV down to the sea front last night for the first time ever! How did I manage this I hear you ask? Well Carol's dear friend Wayne came over from Bristol and took her down on his bike. She does not mind going pillion when it is with him.

So, I rode down on Sylvie and felt like a proper grown up, until the marshal told me off for parking the wrong way around and ruining his near perfect line up. :-({|=

I can now understand why Squirrel Hunter had two Hairy Pig Face burgers last time he came, they are actually really nice (providing you do not look at the smoke coming out of the open mouth as it cooks! I am slowly getting used to this carnivore life style.) especially with the gravy. :D

Riding back was a laugh, but Carol picked me up for dragging my rear brake in the corners. Must not leave my foot on the pedal like a naughty girl... :-|

There was a huge crowd again last night and Carol took over 500 (yes really!) photos. Looks like the Royal British Legion will get a good amount of cash from Weston Bikers this year. :D

Another of Carol's videos and more of her music. In the sound track, she is the drummer, Sian (an Aprilia rider) is lead guitar and vocal with Anji on Bass. :D

Anyway, last weeks Bike Night and my first time riding the SV down there. In case you wondered she has sped up the footage slightly and the middle section is a series of photos from her posh camera.:spiderman:

This is due to them setting up for T4 on the beach this weekend. Not fair, want cool sounding motorbikes, not pants boy bands prancing about!

Would be nice to go along though. :D

Edit: I will be down on the sea front with a friend on Thursday evening, due to Carol working late. If anyone is about come and say hello and welcome my friend into the world of bikes. She is lusting after a Bandit, but I think we can change her mind! :D

Should any Orgers (organs?) be present do please feel free to offer me a shoulder to cry on as I say good bye to my dear friend Henry the GC125. Or Point and laugh as I once again turn up riding my old training bike. :D

Hmm, the weather is not looking great and the roads feel icky. So if anyone comes to this evenings bike night, we are still not decided if we are going yet.

The major pull is the pig face burger at Scallies, the major difficulty is the Z Chop that Carol and I are watching on E-Bay. She likes it more than I do, but it would be a nice bike to go to work on and it also means that for next years bike nights, I get my SV back.

What would you do?

Hugs from Carol and Jayne

I very much doubt that we will be in attendance this week at Bike night, Both of our bikes are now off the road, with Sylvie in need of new throttle cables and Agnes the XJ400 in need of an exhaust, MOT and Tax. Hopefully both of them will be on the road by next week. Should any one be heading this way and want to stop in for a cuppa and a cuddle with the cats, then drop us a line. :D

Right folks, we are rapidly coming to the end of the season for Bike night. The last one of 2010 will include an organised ride out for those interested.

Tonight, we will be down at about half past seven with a friend on the back too, so if you see us come and say hello, we are quite friendly.

So see you there, you can't miss me now with my bright purple handle bar and six indicators! :D

This Thursday is the last Weston Bike Night of 2010 and has a ride out too. Not sure yet if we can attend the ride out, but it would be nice to get down the sea front anyway. The ride out is leaving from the Railway station at 18:00. Here is the face book group for it (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=113755495348839&index=1).

If anyone is interested, do let me know, because it would be nice to catch up with some Orgers if you plan on being there.

Anyway, to those of you I have met this year, it was a real pleasure and I hope to see you again next year, helping to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

Many hugs,
