View Full Version : Three new team members
We have three new starters... new receptionist Sarah, new person Sarah to help with an associated company, and a new lawyer Emma to replace Sarah (who left Friday:().
All three are (obviously) female. And all three have a tattoo:eek: I don't have a tattoo fetish, I didn't know when we hired them as the ink was all covered up. So now we have more tattooed people than not, so I will have to get myself done too:D

;)
I hope that you new starters find their feet quickly.
Tattoos seem to be one of the very last taboo´s of this society, it is something people still manage to discriminate against.
I have never regretted mine, however, if I had known back when I had them done of the amount of discrimination I would get because of them, I would have thought a lot differently about getting them done.

Actually I cant stand people with bits of metal sticking out of their face.
Never had to interview or screen one, but they'd get binned for it for sure.

Nice to see that it would have nothing to do with being incompetent for the job role then

Nope. I'd totally discriminate. If you want a job you need to look presentable.

Yes I agree with this statement. Present tattoos are discreet, not as if in a very prominent place, so it would have made no difference to me.

You think passengers have it tough, staff have even even tougher security to get past to get airside. PITA if all you want to do is go outside for a ciggie.

Yeah, the random search is the last thing you need when you've got four flights coming in that need airbridges putting on. Especially if the security staff are too busy looking on the x-rays trying to spot dildos (or 'power tools' as they called them) in women's luggage.

I agree if you've got metal everywhere your not good in a customer facing role, or presenting yourself as a member of a business.
Lab monkeys or behind the scenes its fine though.
Its personal though at the end of the day, i dont like piercings myself but tats bring em on :)

You've got the right recruitment policy there Ed!
I was once recruiting for a call centre in Poland, the CV's over there all had a passport photo on, we sat with a big pile of CV's shortlisting candidates and putting the rest in the bin. It went kind of like this..
"Yep"
"Yep"
"Oh yeah baby!"
"Nope ugly"
"Nope male!"
"Nope fat!"
"Nope male again!"
"Yep"
"Nope, another fat one"
"Helllloooooo there, looking forward to that interview!!"
"Nope, male again"
etc
