So I noticed after taking the bike out for a very quick spin today that the oil level window showed a slight 'top' of white on the top of the regular oil. As a noob this has me worried. I've done a check of the forums and I'm lead to believe it's probably NOT the head gasket because there's no smoke coming out the **** end. I've also taken the radiator cap off and checked that there's no white gunk in there and it's all good. The only thing I have noticed is the oil level might be too high at the moment, not filling the entire window but above the full line.
It's so darn hard to check accurately imo, I mean I can do the whole bending down and lifting the biking up but finding somewhere level enough for me to be SURE the reading is correct is a pain. Anyway, I digress. Most of the oil itself looks fine, browny black and fairly transluscent (oil change done <500 miles ago).
The bike is left outside all the time and when I use it (tends to be the weekends only at the mo) she usually gets ridden for at least 40 minutes on fast roads.
So what should I do next? Drain some oil? Change the oil? Take it to a mechanic? Stop worrying so much?
Cheers!
