Hi all,

Dad's got a Skoda Octavia diesel (no skoda jokes it's been brilliant until now). Problem first raised it's head when he was towing a caravan by going into limp mode. Error code said Turbo Overboost Pressure and was re-set. He drove it without caravan and all fine even when leathering it. Caravan back on and after a while limp mode came back (was overtaking a truck). Thought it was just caravan until today I said put your indicator on(after asking exactly what he was doing when it went into limp mode) and accelerate...straight into limp mode. Engine off/on to reset, accelerate very hard and car and all fine. Indicate again and accelerate and limp mode.

Anyone got any ideas?

I was convinced it was the turbo until he said it only ever happens when he's overtaking. He can go up hills etc with caravan on no problems, it only ever happens when he pulls out around a truck or something which gave me the idea to indicate and then accelerate.

Surely can't be the turbo when you can hammer the car and it's fine, indicate then accelerate simulating an overtake and it goes into limp mode straight away.

to be honest it was the first thing google threw up. If it is i'd go with a cleaning method as it sounds simple enough.
