I really like these bikes, can you keep a running update on ownership? I'd be interested to see how the build quality holds up, I know lozzo has been less than impressed with some parts on his versys, although he is overal delighted with the machine

Nice one Ian, hope you have some serious fun on it - should have got a black one though :-).

Yes, I am a touch unimpressed with the finish on some of my bike's chassis parts, but overall I think it's a great bike that I would have trouble replacing if anything happened to it. I'd probably buy another and kit it out the same as the one I have.

Great bike, and only appreciated when ridden. My old man had a go of mine whilst I took his 1200 GS out the other day and he was more impressed with mine than I was with his.

Would like to keep mine and have a 2nd bike, but funds are probably gonna mean that its one or the other.

Why the swap?

Many reasons for the change, I've been made redundant recently and the triple was coming up for an expensive service, needed new tyres etc and was just over 3 years old so mot's / wear etc... plus its never been exactly economical and i've never found a huge amount of confidence riding it

So with the trade in + a small bit of cash I have a new bike with a warranty, cheaper to run / insure / tax / maintain. To me its alot more comfortable to ride and flick about with it being alot lighter and the power being sv'ish which I was always comfortable with, plus I have the option of hard luggage to tour if I should want to

In essence its just a much more practical bike for me, I do miss the triple a bit already but as i'm putting in more miles on the new bike i'm growing very fond of it

like the price of a 190 for the rear .... yeah I can understand!

You'll just have to get the 1200cc Speed Triple that will come out in a few years

It's not a very pretty bike is it. Just as well it's a good bike. Should have got it in black though.

You'd be surprised, I've had more people come upto me already with the versys to say how nice it looks than I ever did with the triple in the 9 months I had it..

Might be partly due to it being clean and shiny though ;)

My hubby has an 07 Versys, and totally neglects it. The battery never fails to start, and after he gave it the first proper clean in a year yesterday, it looks great. He loves it.

Just a bump to show the complete photo's

Since I got it i've added a Scorpion can, a Radiator Guard and a Carbon Hugger, also a full set of Givi luggage. Its now as I want it to remain (other than changing the tyres) so I cleaned it and took some pics today
