Hi, I'm Richard from the beautiful seaside town of Weston-super-Mare. I'm 31, and an ex SV owner. I currently ride a Speed Triple 1050, but hopefully can get rid of it and get back on an SV650! :-D When you do lots of commuting, and not much, erm, spirited riding, the 1050 is not in my eyes, as good as a 650. Plus I used to be able to keep up with bigger bikes anyhow, the SV was such a great bike. I've had a 1999 naked in red (written off by a silly girl on a roundabout) and an 03 in blue, which I sold because I wanted something big, fast and powerful. What I really wanted, was a newer SV with a set of flat bars! D'oh! Hope you're all enjoying the Easter weekend!

Welcome to the org, you're going the other way! Most on here seem to be moving on to Triumph! Sensible choice since the chancellor continues to insist on petrol pump s*domy!

Thanks chaps, it's been fun riding that big Triple, but financially, it's not worth it, and an SV can cut through the traffic so easily, the big Triumph can't always fit into gaps. I do a fair bit of riding through Bristol, and in all weathers, so keeping 130HP in check all the time is becoming more of a chore than fun.

Thanks, I'm not quite there yet though, once this speedy goes, I'll be back in the wonderfully cheap world of SV ownership again!

welcome to the forum

I sat on a Versys, nice bike, but I have short legs.... :( and lowering bikes is such a pain, and in my opinion not worth all that effort!

Oh Bristols a sod to get through - I did my Christmas shopping there!

It's really annoying to not fit through gaps, and then see some sv650 or er6f nip through! With Bristol, you have to learn the through routes, following the traffic will get you nowhere! As Bristol is bad, I have no desire to go to London!

Lies I tell you, wicked lies! Although I do live in Weston with the Wifey and the cats. :smt040

Anyway, Welcome to the Org. It is very nice here, although there are some strange folks that loiter about making the place look perverted! :smt051

Hope to see you down the sea front in the summer, look out for us, I will most likely be riding a ratty old CG125 that smokes and Carol (AKA Wifey) will be on my SV because her bike is buggered! If you did your bike training with Motag a few years ago, you may even have met the wife, when she was chief Instructor.

Be good.
