Just a few pics from the Madlanders rideout yesterday (sunday).
Speedplays battery on his trumpet died so spent a good part of the day at crossgates waiting for RAC, but still enjoyed the day.

The others are just as breathtaking, devils bridge is worth seeing as well as long as you can handle the steps.
Disappointed i missed the water cascading over, doesnt always happen and ive been in excess of 20 times

I didnt mean ive been 20 times and its never happened, i have seen it many times but the last couple it hasnt, the other dams are the same.
Depends on what time of year i think, water levels due to rainfall etc

Mr Girth, purchased Drew's SV when he wanted to sell it in August last year, as he didn't want to do the miles he does on the trumpet or get salt on the dear thing!

He was going to come on the trumpet then changed his mind and then wished he had..... because he is a bum and a girl like that :takeabow:

The plan is to now use the "MESS" name for the route and not the particular date.....so yes, there will be the same rideout, probably in June / July.....depending on other rides etc.

Hopefully, the weather will be nicer and we can do this when there isn't so much bank holiday traffic.

Don't worry Andy, bed here for you if needed along with Paul and the usual reprobates.

Just caught up on a few posts, I've been to the Elan Valley quite a few times but that was only the 2nd time I'd seen the dam in action!

Visitor centre car park was a lot busier than the majority of times I've been, though the surrounding roads didn't seem so bad.

Really enjoyed that day :D Running up the A483 to Welshpool with Mike finished it off nicely as well.

i thought the traffic was light compared to down here, even as tec the pace was still good and enjoyable for me (no need to worry about being slow staceylew). Crossgates to Bridgenorth was blistering i dont think i've ever tec'ed at that sort of speed , it was probably faster at the back as the pack was split up

most enjoyable and i shotgun tec for next time aswell :p

That was rather dodgy, I grabbed a load of front brake really late into the corner when I saw you go.... slowed me down just enough.

The amount of crap being thrown up by dmc etc from between the tyre lines really slowed me down sometimes althoughonly spun he rear up once.

Whoever stopped with you was directly behind you, I was behind them.

I just remember you crossing the pines and crap in the middle of the road and the whole bike twitched then you put your foot down to stay up from my memory.

I could have avoided anything that may have occured, the person directly behind I'm not so sure, depends on how they would have reacted in the heat of the moment.

Twas me behind. I saw the mud directly in the centre of the lane, probably about 2 metres worth. I'm pretty sure it was the back that went from what I saw. I managed to get around on the outside of the corner. Scary stuff though!

You don't have to go quick to have a lot of fun on a bike! My first ride out last year to Wales I was so slow. I watched everyone else ride and thought god ill never be that quick!

Where did your slide happen Phil? The roads were pretty messy, I had a very brief front wheel slide when we were heading back towards Quatt, made the mistake of straying into the centre of the lane where all the muck was.

On the road just coming upto the ok diner, 5 or10 mins before it on way there, i also had the front slide a little on me twice on way home, both from crap in the middle of the road.
Trouble is cos im not pinpoint accurate with my steering yet on cornering its hard to avoid the centre all the time.
