Hi All

Some help needed please!

When I bought my bike, right hand side caliper was dragging, I overhauled the caliper, replaced the pads and bled the brakes....probem is I have way too much lever travel. Also feels spongy.
If I clamp either side brake hose I get a really good lever, but with both hoses unclamped the lever is crap.
I have also noticed the right hand disc moves side to side with braking.
I have been told that it may have a bent disc, and / or caliper mounting bracket... but if I block off the left hand hose I get a good lever - so I'm not sure if thats the problem?
Any help appreciated (before throwing parts at it)

Cheers
Mark

Sounds like air in the system. Try a full bleed and open up all the possible points i.e. master cylinder banjo bolts etc. Maybe your lines are old too. I uprated to braided lines and there is hardly any travel or hard pressure required to get good brake effect.
As for the disc. Have a look on the rear side and check the condition of the spring washers on the 'bobbins' holding the two sections together. They can rust through and disappear, leaving the disc to rattle side to side and lead to pulsing under braking (at least it did on mine).
Good luck.
And welcome :)

Disc moving side to side could well be sliding pins not moving freely.

Also K2 bike those hoses are now 8 years old and will be soft.
